00:00Three new Star Wars movies are in the works, and one stars Daisy Ridley as Rey.
00:05After several years of Star Wars focusing on TV shows, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy
00:10announced at Star Wars Celebration in London that three new feature films are on the way,
00:15from directors James Mangold, Dave Filoni, and Charmaine Obeyed Chinoy, respectively.
00:21It was also revealed with great fanfare that Ridley is heading back to a galaxy far, far away
00:25to star in the movie to be helmed by Obeyed Chinoy.
00:28The actress said she is, quote, thrilled to be continuing this journey.
00:32The film starring Ridley is to be set 15 years after the events of Rise of Skywalker, the last Star Wars movie.

00:42Taking one last look, sir, at my friends.
00:49Meanwhile, Mangold's movie will be set in the deep past.
00:53The director described his project as a biblical epic that would look at the origins of the Force,
00:58and be set 25,000 years before any of the timelines and stories told by the movies and shows so far.
01:05And Filoni's feature is to be set in the so-called present,
01:08as it will act as a climactic event for the current Star Wars series,
01:12The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and the upcoming Ahsoka.
01:15No timeline on the release of the three films was given.
