00:00A man said to be R. Kelly's former manager turned himself in to authorities Friday morning
00:04on a warrant for allegedly making threats to the family of a young woman who was believed
00:08to be involved with the singer. According to multiple reports, Henry James Mason
00:12surrendered to Atlanta authorities on a warrant for felony terroristic threats.
00:16Those threats were reportedly made to the family of Jocelyn Savage, one of the women
00:19who Kelly is allegedly holding against her will. Savage was shown in the Lifetime documentary
00:24Surviving R. Kelly, a six-part series that goes in-depth into the alleged decades of abuse
00:29perpetrated by the singer against multiple women. The documentary, which features Chance the
00:33Rapper and John Legend, premiered on Lifetime on January 3rd and aired over three nights,
00:37pulling in 1.9 million viewers. For her part, Savage maintains that she is with R. Kelly
00:42of her own free will, as her family, who participated in the documentary, continue to fight
00:47for her return. Mason was released on a $10,000 bond, while Kelly could not be reached
00:51for comment. Prosecutors in New York, Chicago and Atlanta are seeking information about
00:56R. Kelly in light of the accusations made in surviving R. Kelly, while he has consistently
01:00maintained his innocence. Meanwhile, another woman has come forward with her own allegations
01:05against the R&B singer. In an interview with Dateline Tracy Sampson, a woman who said she
01:09interned at Epic Records in 1999, claims that R. Kelly sexually abused her when she was a
01:14teenager. According to Sampson, Kelly forcibly kissed her before coaxing her into a sexual
01:19relationship.
01:20He's like, well, can I kiss you? And I was like, no. He was like, okay, well, give me
01:24a hug. And then, like, when I gave him a hug, he just started kissing me.
01:27Sampson said that she later felt as though she was in love with him, saying in the interview
01:31that at the time, she didn't know what to do and wasn't sure if what was happening was
01:35normal. Sampson, who first spoke out about her relationship with Kelly in a Washington
01:39Pose expose published in May 2018, told Dateline that she filed a lawsuit against Kelly after
01:44she ended their relationship and turned 18. Sampson said that she settled out of court with
01:48the artist in 2002 for $250,000. Her interview will air on NBC Friday night at 10 p.m.
01:54Surviving R. Kelly has resulted in a mute R. Kelly campaign, which demands the music industry,
01:59including his record label RCA Records, stop supporting the artist. A number of people have
02:04spoken out against R. Kelly since, with Lady Gaga and Celine Dion nixing their collaborations
02:08with the R&B singer. Sources now tell Billboard that Sony and R. Kelly have agreed to part ways
02:13in the wake of the documentary, although reps for both parties could not be immediately reached for
02:17comment. To read more on this ongoing story and for all the latest updates, head to THR.com.
