00:00And congratulations on the launch of the Monopoly Kuala Lumpur Edition.
00:06One of the world's most beloved board games, Monopoly, has landed in Kuala Lumpur just in time for Visit Malaysia, year 2026.
00:16The new Kuala Lumpur Edition features some of the city's most iconic landmarks,
00:20from the Petronas Twin Towers and Dataran Merdeka, to shopping hotspot Bukit Bintang,
00:26Chinatown, Little India, and upscale neighborhoods like Bongsar.
00:31Even the community chest and chance cards reflect local life,
00:34with instructions ranging from paying 50 ringgit for laksa or nasi lemak,
00:39to repairing properties after monsoon rains, or heading to KLIA for a flight.
00:44But I believe in this Monopoly Edition, we have more than 17 landmarks,
00:49which will be focusing in this, what they call it, Monopoly.
00:54And this is a good opportunity, not only for Malaysians as well, for foreign tourists,
01:00to identify and explore the various landmarks, which have been highlighted in this Monopoly.
01:07And I think this is a good opportunity.
01:09Today, in a digital world, everybody on the phone.
01:12So playing games with families and so on, is again, it's a good story for family bonding,
01:20and at the same time, to know more about your own country, your own cities.
01:25Hasbro's Monopoly Kuala Lumpur Edition was developed by Winning Moves.
01:29Now, to set the scene of our journey in creating this game,
01:34some of you might be wondering how exactly we create a city edition of Monopoly.
01:40So at the start of this year, we started researching some of KL's most beloved landmarks,
01:46attractions, and hidden gems.
01:48We looked at what the locals and the tourists love most about KL,
01:53from the iconic Petrona's Twin Towers, to Medeca Square, to the bustling Buking Bintang,
01:59and of course, the delicious foods, and the vibrant culture that brings the city to life.
02:04So we hope that this Kuala Lumpur Edition of Monopoly
02:07can be a way for people to connect with their city in a fun and playful way.
02:11For Malaysians everywhere, we hope that this is a reminder of how far the city has come,
02:16from its roots as a tin mining town, to one of the world's most dynamic capitals.
02:21From iconic landmarks to local cuisine,
02:24every square tells a story making this edition more than just a board game,
02:28but a celebration of Kuala Lumpur itself.
