UK MP sentenced to jail in graft case involving aunt Hasina

A Bangladesh court has sentenced British MP Tulip Siddiq to two years in jail, in a corruption case over the alleged illegal allocation of land linked to her aunt, former PM Sheikh Hasina.

00:52has rejected delegations as politically motivated.

00:55Britain has no extradition treaty with Bangladesh.

00:59Hasina has been in India since fleeing an uprising in August last year.

01:08and given a further 21 years in other corruption cases just last week.
