00:00This is the second arrest warrant issued by Bangladesh's International Crimes Tribunal
00:08against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who fled the country in August after student-led
00:13protests toppled her government.
00:15It relates to her alleged role in enforced disappearances during her 15 years in power.
00:21The tribunal's chief prosecutor, Tajul Islam, says it alleges more than 500 people were
00:27abducted by security forces and kept in secret facilities during her reign.
00:33Eleven others were also issued similar arrest warrants, including Ms Hasina's military
00:38advisor.
00:39She's been ordered to face court in Bangladesh early next month, but it looks unlikely that
00:44she will turn up.
00:46The court had already issued a warrant for Ms Hasina's arrest back in October on charges
00:50of crimes against humanity relating to the deaths of reportedly hundreds of protesters
00:56in July and August during the student-led uprising that ultimately forced her to resign
01:02and flee to India.
01:04That warrant had ordered her to appear before the International Crimes Tribunal by mid-November,
01:09which she did not do.
01:11Sheikh Hasina is currently in exile here in New Delhi, and two weeks ago, Bangladesh's
01:16interim government sent a formal request to the Indian government to extradite her back
01:22to Bangladesh.
01:23And while the Indian government has confirmed that it did receive a communication from Bangladesh,
01:29it hasn't yet given any further comment or any indication of whether it has responded
01:34to that request or, indeed, whether it intends to comply with it.
