00:00With this year's San Diego Comic-Con canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic,
00:04Warner Bros. is creating its own event to promote its slate of new content, DC Fandom.
00:10The event will be available to stream for free at DCFandom.com on August 22nd,
00:16beginning at 10 a.m. Pacific time, and be available online for 24 hours.
00:20The event could bring fans the most extensive looks yet at a number of high-profile projects,
00:25including Matt Reeves' The Batman, which shut down production in March amid the coronavirus pandemic,
00:30and James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, which has been tightly guarded after wrapping filming in February
00:36and has yet to release any footage or photos.
00:39The studio also will use the event to promote Wonder Woman 1984,
00:42which is due out October 2nd after being moved twice due to the coronavirus.
00:47The studio also promises a presence from DC movies, including Zack Snyder's Justice League,
00:52Aquaman, and Shazam, just to name a few.
00:55In addition to film and TV talent, there will be top executives slated to participate in the event,
01:00including prolific TV producer and Arrowverse creator Greg Berlanti, among others.
01:06Warner Bros. CEO Anne Sarnoff spoke out about the exciting event in a statement, saying,
01:10With DC Fandom, we're able to give fans from around the world an exciting and unparalleled way
01:16to connect with all their favorite DC characters,
01:18as well as the incredible talent who bring them to life on the page and screen.
01:22For the past decade, Comic-Con has been a go-to place for Warner Bros., Marvel Studios,
01:27and other studios to tease upcoming Comic-Con tentpoles and TV shows.
01:31But that changed with this year's convention being canceled and migrating online for a number of virtual panels.
01:37Meanwhile, Warner's is the first studio to announce its own plans.
