00:00Russell Crowe is sharing his thoughts on Ridley Scott's Gladiator sequel, and it's not too positive.
00:07The actor who's not part of the sequel film is saying he's slightly uncomfortable with it being made.
00:12During a recent interview with Kyle Meredith, the Oscar-winning actor said,
00:16I'm slightly uncomfortable with the fact they're making another one.
00:19Because of course, I'm dead and I have no say in what gets done.
00:22But a couple of the things I've heard, I'm like, no, no, no.
00:25That's not in the moral journey of that particular character.
00:27But I can't say anything. It's not my place. I'm six foot under.
00:31So we'll see what that is like.
00:33Crowe played Roman General Maximus in 2000's Gladiator.
00:36The film, also directed by Scott, follows his character as he sets out to exact vengeance against the corrupt emperor
00:42who murdered his family and sent him into slavery.
00:45The actor continued, noting,
00:46This is just me being purely honest. There's definitely a tinge of melancholy, a tinge of jealousy.
00:52In the sequel, Paul Meskell takes on the lead role of adult Lucius,
00:55depicted in the original movie by Joaquin Phoenix.
00:58He told Esquire last year that the film is definitely the biggest one I've done.
01:02When asked if he had spoken to Crowe regarding the original Gladiator,
01:06the Normal People star responded,
01:07I don't know what we would talk about.
01:09Like, I'd love to hear his stories from filming, but the character is like totally separate.
01:13The film, also starring Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen,
01:18is set to hit theaters on November 22nd.
