00:00and for more details on Honduras election day we are going live now with
00:05our special envoy Jorge Restoso. Restoso welcome to from the south what can you
00:09tell us
00:11most definitely here we are already halfway from this electoral day here in
00:31the polls are indicating that the attention the participation is massive
00:38according to official figures 23% of the electorate we're talking about six
00:45almost 6.5 million Hondurans are ready to vote and already at 2 p.m. that is a
00:54percentage is considered a high level of participation because there is a trend
01:00here to vote almost at the end of the electoral day in the streets there is
01:06absolutely calm there are some delays in certain polling places but in general
01:14everything goes very very smooth we are waiting at this point the closing of the
01:20electoral day that supposed to be at 5 and then could be extended if there are
01:26some people again in the lines waiting to be voting but the question mark is it
01:33has been put in dispute what is going to be the results that the track systems were
01:42going the transmission of the results partial results eventual results that is
01:49going to be announced by 9 p.m. or 8 p.m. because officially has to be done three
01:55hours after the closing of the polls so definitely that is a big question mark why
02:02because through days before it has been caught that there were some 26 audios where
02:10one of the members of the electoral council was discussing with members of the
02:15opposition and even the voice in those recordings of a military member they were
02:22supposed or the suspicion is that they have no doubts that they were planning to create an electoral
02:30fraud an electoral coup according to some of them that's why the candidate of the official
02:38party Libre Ritzy Moncada after she voted this morning the three main candidates were voting already
02:45three days later plus the president Xiomara Castro and her husband the former president
02:52Mineral Zelaya the Ritzy Moncada has already said when she finished the vote that she doesn't believe
03:01what the results by nine o'clock that are going to be the first time that they see a trend
03:08are going to announce because she believes that could be manipulated so there's also the situation that the
03:15polls could indicate a trend there are certain suspicions that there are going
03:21to be not necessarily in the in the social networks announced way ahead in
03:28order to create also some impression of what's what's the trend in the
03:34political official party in the headquarters in the Libertad and
03:41the foundation Libre there is optimism there are smiles they are very positive
03:48so there's no indication why simply we can say that they are getting that that
03:56is the mood and so far we are waiting to see if in we're talking about two hours
04:03and 15 minutes closing of the polls everything is going to end up in in
04:10harmony and the counting of the votes that are going to be also in presence of
04:16international observers are going to be running smooth so now we get back to you
