00:00Ranveer Singh's Dhurandar hasn't even released yet and it's already in the middle of cross-border
00:04controversy.
00:05First, in Delhi, the family of Ashoka Chakra awardee, Major Mohit Sharma has moved the
00:10high court.
00:11Their claim, the film borrows from their son's covert operations and life story without ever
00:16asking them.
00:18To them, the message is clear, a martyr's legacy isn't a creative shortcut and certainly
00:22not commercial property.
00:24The makers, though, insist Dhurandar is pure fiction.
00:27But with the matter already in court, the film may have to survive a few legal punches
00:31before its release.
00:32And then, controversy number 2 from Karachi Chaudhary Aslam, the real-life, rock-solid encounter
00:37specialist who built his reputation taking on terror groups.
00:41In the film, Sanjay Dutt appears as a character that looks way too close to Aslam.
00:45The styling, the swagger, even the backstory.
00:48And that's where the storm begins.
00:50Aslam's widow says the portrayal twists his image and turns a respected officer into
00:54a caricature.
00:55He's called it disrespectful and warned of legal action if the makers don't fix it.
00:59So, to summarize, one side says the film exploits an Indian Army hero, the other says it misinterprets
01:04a legendary Pakistani cop.
01:06And the makers are standing in the center shouting, guys, it's fiction.
01:10The film has also picked up an 18-plus rating overseas for strong violence, adding even more
01:15heat to the conversation.
01:16For now, the release is still set for December 5, 2025.
01:20But whether it arrives untouched, edited or with a fresh disclaimer, that's the real cliffhanger.
01:25So, let's go.
