00:11How Far I'll Go, recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about his latest work on Mufasa,
00:16The Lion King, alongside the film's director, Barry Jenkins. When asked if he had to choose
00:20between working on The Lion King prequel and Moana 2, Miranda said this.
00:24It didn't line up that way. Actually, I got the script for Mufasa when I just finished Encanto,
00:31and so I started working on that at the top of 22. So, you know, Moana 2 was already in process
00:40as a TV series with Emily and Abigail, so then when that decision got made to turn that into a movie,
00:46they were already, you know, already cooking. The Hamilton creator went on to praise Emily
00:50Bear and Abigail Barlow's music that they wrote for the sequel, as well as the film's star.
00:54Yeah, they're so talented. And, you know, more than anything, what's so thrilling,
00:58you know, we hired Auli when she was 14 years old, and the stuff she's singing in this new film
01:04is so just technically difficult. To see how far she's come as a performer is really extraordinary.
