00:00What was it like stepping into this role, right?
00:02Like, this is a huge franchise, a huge role.
00:05Did you have, like, any pressures coming into it?
00:09I feel like I didn't have as much pressure since I'm playing, you know, Mufasa as a youngin.
00:14But I was really excited to start.
00:16I feel like, you know, we've seen Mufasa as a king, so getting to see his origin,
00:20how he became to be who he is, and I just think it's been really great so far.
00:24And what did you learn about Mufasa, especially as a kid?
00:28Like, that journey into his adulthood, like, what do you feel like you learned
00:32that the audiences would appreciate?
00:34Well, I mean, learning Mufasa was an orphan.
00:36I mean, that's been, hey, who saw that coming?
00:39So, but there's a lot I've learned about the character for sure.
00:43Not anything that I can say yet, but when you see the movie, you'll definitely see.
00:48And I heard it's a lot of singing.
00:50So do you sing too?
00:52I do sing in the film.
00:54Any original, I heard it's a lot of original songs.
00:56So what was that process like, kind of stepping into, like, this world?
01:00You know, we know the OG songs, they're classics at this point,
01:03but doing new music, like, what was that like for you?
01:05Yeah, the music, that's honestly my favorite part of the film.
01:08Working with Lynn was great, and it just feels so nostalgic.
01:13I've loved The Lion King for a long time.
01:15So being able to be a part of a franchise and sing in it is crazy.
01:19So I'm very excited for everyone to hear the song, hear the music.
01:22It's my favorite part of the film, so.
01:24I love that.
01:25And what do you want this new generation of kids and families to get out of this film?
01:30Well, I mean, this is a very family-oriented film,
01:33and it's just, you know, a message about that you don't have to be your past.
01:37Mufasa has a very rough upbringing that we'll see.
01:39So, yeah, I mean, your past doesn't define who you are,
01:42so you can always grow and change into someone else.
01:45I love that.
01:46And did you work closely with Aaron, who's the adult Mufasa at all?
01:50What was that like?
01:51Yes, I love Aaron.
01:52I just saw him a moment ago.
01:53I met him a couple months ago when I was actually recording.
01:56We weren't recording together just because, you know,
01:59I'm playing the younger version.
01:59He plays the older version, but he's so nice and so talented.
02:03So I'm excited for everyone to see his work as well.
02:04I'm excited to see his work as well, for sure.
