Relegated in the bronze medal match, the last year’s Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference finalist Akari outlasted the league’s two-time champions PLDT in a five-set affair, 15-25, 25-23, 21-25, 26-24, 20-18, to snatch the last spot of the podium on Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

Annie Mitchem led the charge for the Chargers with 36 points on 34 attacks, on a block, and an ace.
