First ‘Creed III’ Trailer Pits Michael B. Jordan Against Jonathan Majors

Michael B. Jordan is back in the ring in the first trailer for MGM’s 'Creed III'.
This time around, Jordan’s Adonis “Donnie” Creed squares off with actor Jonathan Majors’ Damian Anderson. The sequel also had the added pressure for Jordan of being his feature directorial debut.

00:08The first trailer for Creed III,

00:10starring and directed by Michael B. Jordan, is here.

00:13I'm coming for everything. You threatening me?

00:16The film sees Jordan back in the ring,

00:18but this time around, his character Adonis Donnie Creed

00:21squares off with Damien, played by Jonathan Majors.

00:24I need you to take all your fear, take all the guilt.

00:29Let go of whatever was and walk into what is.

00:33During a recent press conference,

00:35Jordan teased that Majors character Damien is, quote,

00:38a pivotal person and pillar in Adonis' life.

00:44Damien.

00:46How long were you locked up?

00:4718 years, bro. Just got out last week.

00:51The third installment in the franchise

00:53marks Jordan's directorial debut.

00:55He wrote on Twitter alongside the new trailer,

00:57my directorial debut still sounds crazy to say,

01:00but there's no film that has been more personal to me

01:03and no film I felt more ready to steer.

01:05Excited to share the first trailer for Creed III.

01:08To my cast and crew, thanks for working so hard

01:10to continue the legacy of the franchise.

01:12Who cares what happened with you two?

01:15I didn't tell you.

01:16We was like brothers.

01:18I was the best though.

01:20But I never got a chance to prove that.

01:22Jordan also said of working with Majors as a director,

01:25Me and him bonded in a way that I never had an opportunity to.

01:28It's my first time directing that relationship between director and actor.

01:33I really understand that now and it's a bond that'll last forever.

01:36So just really lucky to have that gentleman by my side.

01:39Damien's fighting the world and he's trying to hurt people.

01:42I vouch for you.

01:43You think you mad?

01:44Try spending half your life in a cell.

01:46Why can't somebody else live your life?

01:48Jordan first played Donnie in 2015's Creed from filmmaker Ryan Coogler.

01:53He went on to star in 2018's Creed II, directed by Stephen Capel Jr.

01:57Creed III is set to hit theaters on March 3rd, 2023.
