00:00It's official, Broadway is coming back. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday that
00:04Broadway will be back in business on September 14th. Cuomo wrote on Twitter,
00:09Broadway shows will be ready to open September 14th at 100% capacity. Tickets go on sale starting
00:15tomorrow. Broadway is a major part of our state's identity and economy, and we are thrilled that the
00:20curtains will rise again. The Broadway League confirmed that ticket sales would indeed resume
00:24eyeing a fall comeback. The League said in a press release, with guidance from Governor Andrew
00:29Cuomo, based on current health trends and subject to continuing improvement of public health and
00:34vaccination rates, as well as the state's final approval of each theater operator's health and
00:38safety protocols, the Broadway League announces that Broadway shows in New York City will resume
00:43ticket sales this month for fall 2021 performances. The initial shutdown of Broadway occurred on March
00:4912th, 2020, as Cuomo banned gatherings of more than 500 people in a bid to slow the infection rate of
00:55the novel coronavirus. At that time, 31 productions were running, including eight new shows in previews
01:00and eight productions were in rehearsals. Anticipated dates for returning Broadway productions will be
