00:17I find myself speechless in the midst of this. Another four years of hatred leaning us towards
00:22a world I do not want to live in. She went on to say, I echo Ethel Cain's statement more than
00:26anything. May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace.
00:31Zegler also wrote, there is a deep, deep sickness in this country that is shown in the sheer amount
00:35of people who showed up for this man who threatens our democracy. Zegler's comments blew up on X,
00:41where MAGA supporters slammed the West Side Story star and vowed to boycott her live-action
00:45$200 million Snow White remake, which Disney is releasing in theaters in March.
00:50On Thursday night, the 23-year-old actress posted a new message,
00:53Hi everyone, I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram
00:58last week. I let my emotions get the best of me. Hatred and anger have caused us to move
01:03further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed
01:07to the negative discourse. This week has been emotional for so many of us, but I firmly believe
01:11that everyone has the right to their opinion, even when it differs from my own. I am committed
01:16to contributing positively toward a better tomorrow. Zegler previously clashed with conservatives
01:21after some of her comments about the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs went viral
01:25last year, including what she told Extra about the movie.
01:28The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so. There is a big focus on her
01:35love story with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird, weird. So we didn't do that this time.
