Our first look at Ryan Gosling in 'Star Wars: Starfighter' just dropped. Director Shawn Levy posted a photo on Instagram of Gosling and co-star Flynn Gray in costume. He captioned the image, "Somewhere in the Mediterranean Sea #Starfighter." Disney is set to release the film on May 28th, 2027, after announcing the date earlier this year at Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo.

00:35perfect filmmaker for this particular story than Sean. Plot details have not been revealed,

00:40but the standalone movie is set roughly five years after the events of 2019's Star Wars The Rise of

00:45Skywalker, which was the last title from the franchise to hit theaters. The next Star Wars

00:49film to hit theaters will be director Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22nd, 2026.

00:55As for Gosling, he can next be seen in the 2026 film Project Hail Mary.
