00:00Congratulations. You're a first-time nominee tonight. How does that feel?
00:03It's super exciting. I mean, honestly, MTV and VMAs, they've been so supportive of me,
00:08and I just, I feel like a baby, and I feel like they're, like, helping me to walk and figure out my next steps,
00:13so I'm appreciative.
00:15It's actually 40 years of the VMAs.
00:17What was one of your earliest memories of either watching the telecast or being here,
00:22maybe a performance that you enjoyed?
00:24I would definitely say Beyoncé's performances are, like, go-tos that I always run back to for inspiration when I'm on tour.
00:31And you also dropped a new single, Sweep It Up. What can you tease about or say about it?
00:37Yeah, Sweep It Up, I'm really, really excited because I wanted to release kind of, like, an opposite of what people, I guess, know me for,
00:45which is my voice, and I wanted to really show my personality and show my fun and the carefree side,
00:50and so I love that I have works out that kind of show all the sides of me, and I'll put it all together, and that'll be my album.
00:56Very quickly, I wanted to ask, what's something that you would say to your younger self that was about to embark on this journey of music?
01:04I would say you should ask yourself more questions and really get to know yourself,
01:09because that'll help you speed this whole coming-of-age process along.
01:13Thank you very much.
