00:00A body was recovered Monday at Lake Piru in Southern California, the site where Glee actress Naya Rivera went missing last Wednesday while boating with her 4-year-old son.
00:09Divers recovered the body around 9.30 a.m. according to the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.
00:15Authorities resumed searching the lake in the early morning hours. No official identity was given.
00:20The 33-year-old Glee actress rented a boat and went for an excursion with her son at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 8.
00:26The rental boat was supposed to be returned at 4 p.m. However, when the actress did not return, employees operating the rental stand went out to look and found her son alone in the boat.
00:36Authorities noted an extra life jacket was found in the boat.
00:39Rivera's son told investigators that he and his mother had been swimming in the lake and he got back in the boat, but Rivera did not.
00:46Authorities say they believe Rivera drowned in Lake Piru on Wednesday, calling it a, quote, tragic accident.
00:52On Thursday, the focus of the investigation shifted to a recovery operation, with over 100 personnel searching the lake as best they could, given the poor visibility conditions.
01:01The lake has a number of obstructions, such as tree roots, which authorities said made the search slow and difficult,
01:06and noted on Friday that fewer divers were being used in place of sophisticated sonar equipment to help in the investigation.
01:13Lake Piru is located in Ventura County, California, more than 50 miles north of Los Angeles.
