00:00Access to the Puncak Arabella apartments in Tanarata, Cameron Highlands, which was cut
00:05off by a landslide, has been reopened following road-clearing work on Saturday morning.
00:11Cameron Highlands OCPD Superintendent Azri Ramli said residents who had been stranded
00:17have safely returned home.
00:19The landslide, which occurred around 8.30pm on Friday on a slope near Block C of the residential
00:25building, was caused by continuous heavy rainfall.
00:29The incident disrupted access to 346 homes and put 28 units in the block at risk.
00:35A total of 53 residents from 13 families were affected.
00:40Most took shelter at relatives' homes, while 17 individuals were placed at a relief centre
00:45at Dewanpunchak Arabella.
00:48Superintendent Azri credited the swift response of various agencies, including the Royal Malaysia
00:53Police, the Fire and Rescue Department, and the Civil Defence Force for bringing
00:59the situation under control.
