The road affected by a landslide on Jalan Besar Kampung Raja in Cameron Highlands has been reopened to all vehicles at noon Monday (Jan 6) after clean-up efforts were completed and the route was deemed safe.

00:13District Police Chief Superintendent Azri Ramli confirmed that the landslide, which
00:18occurred around 2 am, had blocked the main road with debris and fallen trees.
00:23Clean-up operations have been completed and authorities continue to monitor the site.
00:29No casualties or property damage were reported, according to local news, and the District
00:34Disaster Management Secretariat attributed the incident to continuous heavy rain since
00:39Sunday afternoon.
00:41In a related development, 11 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia candidates were safely transported
00:46by the Civil Defence Department in a four-wheel-drive vehicle to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Kampung
00:52Raja at 7.30 am to sit for their exams.
