00:00What does it mean to be here today, you know, putting together another premiere for this movie?
00:06Well, the book is an American classic. The movie is also a classic, so it's wonderful that they're doing another movie for this generation, and it's a musical.
00:15You know, I celebrate the writings of Alice Walker. I celebrate the classic that the original Color Purple was when it won the Image Awards,
00:22but I'm really looking forward to seeing this new rendition, and it's a musical with Fantasia. It's got to be amazing.
00:28And we are back, fresh off the strike, so what does it mean to have black, beautiful creators here today?
00:35You know, black excellence is something we celebrate in the entertainment industry, and right as we're seeing more and more individuals produce content like this movie,
00:45I am looking forward not only to seeing this, but looking forward to March 16 when we have the Image Awards to see all of the black excellence come out.
00:52And then we have some greats coming out today. So, Sierra, we have Halle Bailey, we have Oprah, of course.
00:59So, what does it mean to continue their, your legacy, I should say, when it comes to black excellence like you mentioned?
01:05Listen, you cannot get any better than having a premiere of this movie with the caliber of individuals who are starring in the movies.
01:13It's going to draw out the best of the best in black entertainment, which is the best in entertainment.
