00:00The biggest story in college basketball since Zion's shoe exploded.
00:04I mean, that was a big story.
00:06You know what, man?
00:07They should be, like, publicly, the NCAA and the Big Ten is going to shame
00:12Jawan Howard for his behavior and the handshake line.
00:16Privately, they should be applauding him because that was phenomenal.
00:19Phenomenal watch through and through.
00:22You know, we've got, you know.
00:23You liked it?
00:23Well, listen, the comments from the coaches we can get into later on in the show
00:28and kind of discuss.
00:29But here's my thought on the whole thing.
00:32Heat of the moment, Jawan Howard was upset about what was happening.
00:36He was frustrated.
00:37They were losing.
00:38They're not great this year.
00:40They're, you know, barely above .500.
00:43It's a conference game.
00:44They get smacked around a little bit, and he's frustrated,
00:48and Greg Gard puts his hands on him, and so he gets, you know,
00:51annoyed by the situation.
00:52It escalates, and he palms a guy.
00:54I get all that suspension.
00:57He palmed him.
00:57Yeah, he palmed him.
00:58He did palmed him.
00:59Yeah, and by the way, just to get an idea as to how big NBA players are,
01:05like, Jawan Howard's hand, like, wrapped around that dude's head.
01:08His head just disappeared.
01:10Oh, yeah.
01:10For like one second.
01:11It was like Andre the Giant holding that beer can,
01:13that picture that's out there.
01:15And so Jawan Howard smacks the guy, and look,
01:19I get why people are frustrated.
01:21This is college sports.
01:22There's no place for this, blah.
01:24He shouldn't be fired.
01:26Can we just calm down?
01:28You're fired.
01:29This isn't a fireable offense.
01:31All right?
01:31He didn't, you know, he didn't, you know, put some kid in a Darce choke.
01:35Yeah.
01:35Yeah, but that's what people are doing.
01:38It's like, we've reached, we've reached this point to where nobody knows how to just have
01:51a disagreement or a fight.
01:52Everything's a fatality.
01:54Fired.
01:54Fired.
01:55It's the world we live in.
01:56Like, there's no like, hey, somebody made a mistake.
02:00It was dumb.
02:01Suspend him for a few games.
02:03No, no, no, no.
02:03We got to go straight to the end.
02:05We're going to skip past all that and fire him.
02:06I just think it's crazy.
02:07Hey, what's wild is, though, we live in a day and age where the whole woke mob,
02:15the whole social justice setup and everything that takes place is,
02:21is, it's just at its highest, highest peak of, of participation.
02:27And people have to be very, very aware and cognizant of the things that they say and do,
02:33because if you get caught up into that, you're going to get canceled.
02:38And I just find this to be interesting.
02:40How will this play out?
02:41Because it seems like every single thing that takes place, if somebody gets tripped on a sidewalk,
02:48then depending on who's black and who's white in the scenario dictates what that was all about.
02:55Oh, you tripped him because that's a black man, right?
03:00Yeah.
03:00But now it's like, all right, in this situation, you had a black man put his hands on a white man.
03:08And so it's kind of like in reverse, but will it be, will it be reversed to where that white man put his hands on a black man?
03:19And that's why, but here's the problem that you're going to run into, right?
03:23The problem you're going to run into, I guess so.
03:25The problem you're going to run into is Jawan stepped away, was pulled away, stepped away from the main coach.
03:34When he pulled out his hand and palmed the coach, it wasn't even the coach that grabbed him.
03:39It was an assistant that he palmed.
03:42So it's kind of like at some point, allow a situation to just be a situation.
03:48Should he be fired for it?
03:49No.
03:50Should he be disciplined for it?
03:51Of course he should be disciplined for it because that's what that would call for.
03:56But to turn this into, now it turns into, well, if that were a white man that did that, how would it be handled?
04:05And to be honest with you, I don't know.
04:07Yeah.
04:07I don't know how that would be handled.
04:08It's just, it feels like it's, and look, for people out there, it should be handled the same way.
04:13100%.
04:14And for people out there that are like, well, you know, that's a straw man argument.
04:16What do you mean?
04:17This isn't a race issue.
04:18No, no, no.
04:18But it turned into one.
04:19It turns into one.
04:20Just like so many things do.
04:22And like whether, you know, Jawan Howard's black, white, magenta, who cares?
04:28He made a mistake.
04:29It doesn't mean that we just have to fire everybody because they make a mistake.
04:33It's a regrettable moment.
04:35He was, you know, bothered in the heat of the moment.
04:38Things got away from him.
04:39He palmed a guy.
04:41Let's, like, everybody relax.
04:43Like, people are trying to do these comps.
04:45Well, what about, you know, Woody Hayes?
04:47And what about, I'm telling you, that's, it always turns into the racial card being played
04:54into the scenario.
04:55And now it's like, how are you going to wrap the racial card into this?
04:59It's going to be, he shouldn't have grabbed him.
05:02He shouldn't have grabbed him.
05:03But great guard put his hands on him first.
05:05If we're going to break down detail by detail, and we will do a fight, you know, a fight
05:11recap here at some point on the show.
05:13But, like, just the idea that this is the most outrageous thing in the world.
05:19This isn't the malice of the palace.
05:21Okay?
05:21That's fair.
05:22Like, they were hot and bothered.
05:25He palmed a guy.
05:27Eh, suspend him a few games.
05:28It's fine.
05:29I don't think he needs to lose his job.
05:30You don't lose your job over that.
05:32Yeah.
