00:07George Clooney is opening up about knowing Donald Trump before his time in the White House,
00:11as well as ruling out having his own career in politics.
00:14During an interview on the BBC's The Andrew Marr Show,
00:16Clooney was asked if he ever saw himself, like some other actors, running for office.
00:20No, because I actually would like to have a nice life.
00:24After turning 60 this year, the Oscar winner said he's looking forward to slowing down
00:28and enjoying life with his wife.
00:29But while he does plan on taking on fewer projects, he says not working would, quote,
00:33really be a bummer.
00:34When asked about his support of President Joe Biden,
00:36Clooney dismissed concerns about the president's falling poll numbers,
00:40saying the country is still recovering from Trump's term as president.
00:43There's a lot of things that have to be repaired, you know.
00:45There's a lot of healing that has to happen, and it's going to take time.
00:50Clooney also opened up about knowing Trump before he was in the White House.
00:53He was just this knucklehead. I knew him before he was, you know, a president.
00:57He was just a guy who was chasing girls.
01:00You know, every time he went out, he'd come over and be like,
01:01what's the name of that girl? You know, that's all he was.
01:04While Trump continues to talk about a potential presidential run in 2024,
01:08Clooney added that he hopes Americans have, quote,
01:10a little better sense than to re-elect him.
