00:05EA Sports made the announcement on Tuesday sharing this photo on Twitter along with a statement that read,
00:10Colin Kaepernick is one of the top free agents in football and a starting caliber quarterback.
00:15The team at EA Sports, along with millions of Madden NFL fans, want to see him back in our game.
00:20Knowing that our EA Sports experiences are platforms for players to create,
00:23we want to make Madden NFL a place that reflects Colin's position and talent,
00:28rates him as a starting QB, and empowers our fans to express their hopes for the future of football.
00:33We've worked with Colin to make this possible and we're excited to bring it to all of you today.
00:37Starting today in Madden NFL 21, fans can put Colin Kaepernick at the helm of any NFL team in franchise
00:42mode as well as play with him in play now. We look forward to seeing Colin on Madden NFL teams
00:47everywhere. This marks the first time the former San Francisco 49er star QB has been in the game
00:51since 2016. Kaepernick was ostracized from the NFL after it was he who first kneeled during the
00:57national anthem in protest of racial inequality and police brutality toward people of color.
01:02Since that time, he has become a prominent activist. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has
01:06since said the league was wrong when it demanded players stand for the anthem. He also encouraged
01:11a team to sign Kaepernick. For more on this story, head to THR.com.
