Becca Kufrin's ex-contestants joined the Bachelorette for the traditional reunion show, hosted by Chris Harrison. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with Kufrin and Harrison after the taping.
Transcript
00:00When The Bachelorette Men Tell All special recently taped ahead of airing next Monday,
00:07the ABC reality franchise avoided this season's off-air controversies with
00:12contestants Lincoln and Garrett. But Chris Harrison told The Hollywood Reporter
00:16those two men should not be put in the same category. Garrett is now a top-two finalist.
00:21But he came under fire earlier this season for liking offensive Instagram posts.
00:29Garrett quickly took responsibility for liking the hurtful posts in a statement,
00:33but the incident sparked conversation about the show's casting and vetting process.
00:38However, that conversation was accelerated after another one of Bachelorette Becca Kufrin's
00:43contestants, Lincoln, was convicted of indecent assault and battery after he filmed the show,
00:48stemming from a 2016 incident. When The Hollywood Reporter attended the Men Tell All taping,
00:53all of the notable contestants who have been eliminated were in attendance, except for Lincoln.
00:58Of course, the contestants who are still in the running, Garrett and Blake, were also not in
01:02attendance as usual. With both Garrett and Lincoln absent, the reunion steered clear of
01:07the off-air controversies and instead focused on the drama that Bachelor Nation has seen unfold
01:11this season with contestants like Chris and the feud between David and Jordan.
01:16Being me is my greatest power. Do you get that? Being you isn't your greatest power.
01:20That's why you gotta talk about me.
01:21But in Garrett and Lincoln's absence, host Chris Harrison wanted to make one distinction clear.
01:26Harrison told THR after the taping,
01:28I want to be very careful about people that put Garrett and Lincoln in the same sentence,
01:33because they do not belong in the same sentence. What Garrett did is something that people disagree with.
01:38What Lincoln did is illegal. It's against the law. He committed a crime. He was convicted of that,
01:44so that's very different.
01:45When speaking to THR, Harrison did not have any specifics to reveal in terms of how ABC or producers'
01:51Warner Bros. Television planned to change the show's vetting process. After Lincoln's conviction broke,
01:56WBTV said they are investigating with a third-party company on why Lincoln's background check didn't turn up the case.

02:07so who do you think Becca is going to choose? Blake or Garrett?
02:11Gotta be honest, I was all about Blake in the beginning, but now I think it's gonna be Garrett.
