00:38:26it looks stunning the movement of this fabric as she walks with the wind blowing it's as if she's
00:38:44floating that she turns you get this little element of surprise of this open bag I think this will
00:38:54completely represent who I am as a designer and this is very evening for me this one of the happiest
00:39:00have been creating looks on this competition very like great expectations or something I feel like
00:39:10now I'm doing things that is me come on mama give it to him give it to him
00:39:20but this look I'm so happy with it it definitely shows my identity and DNA hey sporty spice nice
00:39:33Ren is working this look it's very dimensional and I'm glad that I could really bring color in active
00:39:44wear and high fashion to this runway I can stand by my design with pride because I mean this is who I am
00:39:57I'm not just going to pretend to be somebody else that does couture garments I mean it was pretty good
00:40:05very pretty from afar hope it's as gorgeous when it comes into focus
00:40:25I love the fabrication of arcade the lace the feathers it's just it's beautiful
00:40:33I knew going into this challenge that I wanted to create this fashion fair godmother look because
00:40:43that's who I am the kind of that jacket so weird though
00:40:55Mimi literally looks like a dream this is beautiful it's very pretty from afar and it's one of the most
00:41:11beautiful runways that I've ever done in any of the challenges on this show oh she looks glamorous she
00:41:22looks elegant it's just moving around like a beautiful gorgeous cloud yeah she's giving high fashion beauty
00:41:31this dress embodies who I am and my passion as a designer and embodies the theme of this challenge
00:41:40it is quite beautiful yeah no it is pretty very pretty
00:41:45this look for me represents everything that I love to do in this fashion game which is leather
00:42:04it's pretty gorgeous that's a skirt that would sell it was gorgeous
00:42:14love what I did very proud of what I did I hope that I've done enough to stay in this competition
00:42:21because again you never know Laurence can cut a skirt that is like the most impossible to walk in
00:42:29and the model like will always walk flawlessly in it no matter who it is it's like a very specific skill set I

00:42:51I am pleased with seeing Jessica walk down this runway the pleather jacket is looking so amazing
00:42:57wow this is really beautiful in this light gorgeous really gorgeous I think my looks stack up to the
00:43:05competitors because I'm not only showcasing a different side of me I am showcasing what a
00:43:12collection will look like for me oh I love this chiffon train that smacks all of our guests at the
00:43:19wedding as she walks down the aisle that's major if you allow me to do whatever it is that I want
00:43:30to do with a challenge I'm going to take it there that was really beautiful

00:45:43customers I have to stay true to her I mean of course same let's start with one of our favorite
00:45:48looks of the night let's get the model out here all right Bishmi you had the freedom to do whatever
00:46:00you wanted tonight why this look I love that I'm in a place where I identify with my masculine side and
00:46:07my feminine side and I love to put it into my art where were you and this where was this look when
00:46:13I was getting married oh because this is everything it's like a cool future take on bridal let's start
00:46:21with the color this chocolate brown red so beautifully against your model's skin I thought
00:46:28it was really smart though to elevate the look with that dramatic veil which felt like Met Gala ready
00:46:36is the jacket leather um no so all of this is like a pleather type of fabric and it's actually on like a
00:46:44tweed fabric it looks so expensive and what's the fabric on the bottom this is a satin that's double face it
00:46:50so I just got something that had a nice heavy weight so when she walked it could bounce a bit
00:46:54I think this look is ready for the red carpet oh thank you Elaine you deliver fashion you are on
00:47:01trend if not making your own trends as an editor that's what I'm looking for the surprise element
00:47:08thank you Nina it was challenging for me to go out in the rain today and thank God I did because that
00:47:14was one of the most beautiful things I've seen this I could see immediately on anybody today who is in
00:47:21the cultural zeitgeist thank you Brandon thank you Bishop Jessica you can leave the runway
00:47:26unfortunately the next look was one of our least favorites of the night let's bring out the model
00:47:33project this was different for you in this competition so tell us why you chose this look
00:47:46I kind of felt like I needed to say hey remember this I remember season 19 I did the gloves very
00:47:52feminine avant-garde and I feel like this season that might have been a little lost with the more
00:47:57higher end of street wear so I wanted to do something that is me so there is a story behind
00:48:02this whole look first thing that came to me was the goddess Dumballa and Haitian voodoo is half man
00:48:07half snake so I wanted to show that in this fabric it's the idea of having this snake wrapped around her
00:48:13and then then the head is where I went more traditional that a physical snake I appreciate
00:48:18that you wanted to show a side of yourself that we haven't seen much of but this garment is everything
00:48:25you are not it doesn't feel modern it doesn't feel fresh and it doesn't look like it fits the model
00:48:33as it should I knew I was taking a risk and the bagginess is supposed to sit right on top to create
00:48:39that fit there to the finer ways for me the big puffy shoulders and the brocade with the green boots
00:48:46with the serpent and the hair it was too many things together I wish the snake would have been
00:48:53in her neck and not her top I wish it would have been part of the decorative detail on this but mostly
00:49:00I think the problem was the portion and okay thank you project Lucy can leave the runway
00:49:06okay let's talk to another one of our top looks of the night
00:49:12there she is Miss America
00:49:18Ronnie hi so it was the freedom challenge why this look where I come from as a Palestinian
00:49:27um living under military occupation we don't have the freedom of movement I'm unable to visit my
00:49:34birthplace Jerusalem there are always obstacles and checkpoints in the way but in this particular
00:49:39design I wanted freedom of flow freedom of movement I thought the choice in fabric was smart and
00:49:47super risky because you can't have any cutting issues you better not get a snag it just it was you and it
00:49:56highlights your expert craftsmanship thank you so much thank you this dress is so fluid
00:50:02it was a cut of the bias yes it's all on the bias the cut on the bias is is driving me insane
00:50:08I saw Hollywood glamour thank you this is perfection thank you so much thank you Christian Siriano for
00:50:22bringing this man back because this is stunning thank you it is timeless it is classic but there are hints of
00:50:31future here in terms of your fabric choice those intelligently placed cutouts it was really

00:50:52here comes the model Laurence congratulations back on the top what about this look says this is
00:51:05Laurence I like structure I like lines the jacket stayed true to what I designed first I wanted a
00:51:12leather panty so I decided to go with a skirt and incorporate the design of a panty in it to make it
00:51:18not so obvious but where in the hell did you learn to cut a skirt it's a whole bunch of math and body
00:51:26it's just in my head I really liked it and that's when I enrolled into fashion school and that's the year
00:51:33um sorry take your time take your time
00:51:48so um I got pregnant when I was 16 and nobody knew about it and um I got a letter telling me that I was
00:52:12accepted to fashion school um so I just thought my life was over did you go to fashion school yeah
00:52:19only missed two weeks of school nobody ever seen me pregnant wow I lost a lot because of that
00:52:25my father disowned me and he never got over it so he literally passed away and we never spoke
00:52:33oh that's why I don't open up sometimes well Dan thank you for sharing that story and I know there's been a lot of
00:52:43hardship but it's shaped you into a very talented designer for sure but you have this very strict
00:52:53personality and you're not letting it go and when I see you move out of that comfort zone when you play
00:53:01with the strict and the soft is when the magic really comes out yeah it definitely does put your
00:53:10work into a greater context for us the sculptural nature of your silhouettes is very architectural
00:53:20the jacket for me was not maybe the most modern okay but if you don't mind to turn around
00:53:25the way that you're able to cut a garment is incredible I mean this is not a material that
00:53:32you can make a lot of mistakes with no you can't thank you Laurence thank you Laurence go ahead
00:53:38all right let's bring out our last look of the night which unfortunately was one of our least
00:53:43favorites all right Kerasan so tell us how did you come up with the concept so I love my costume
00:53:57design of course but this whole look was inspired by the fashion fairy godmother and that is a non

00:54:33needed that train I think it took away from the fluidity and the femininity of the look and what
00:54:39happens at the top the top is out in the back the jacket was of course not gonna come off but wow turn
00:54:50around oh wow it's more breathtaking without the jacket you are a costume designer and I think that
00:54:58you are really able to also give us really high fashion runway moments that live out of a film a
00:55:04stage a TV and tonight just wasn't that one thing's for sure your looks will never ever be boring because
00:55:15thank you want every single one of them to be spectacular yeah from the shoes to the dress to the jacket to
00:55:24the train it just needed to be harnessed thank you Kerasan thank you see that's what I don't like
00:55:35about it then you want her to change who she is if it's working for her it doesn't make any
00:55:40sense be you but can you be someone else yeah designers we have a lot to talk about we'll call

00:56:05even like a point to start yeah but why don't we start with our favorites tonight Bishmi Laurence and
00:56:12Rami the three all had very precise point of view Rami he can cut a dress on bias like a few others
00:56:21the craftsmanship of that no side seams absolutely flawlessly draped around the body it was classic
00:56:30but he brought something fresh to that archetype yeah does anybody want to say anything about Laurence
00:56:36I'm really blown away by her skill this skirt I think she stumbled upon her new signature yeah but
00:56:43I do think something inside her needs to break free a little bit we haven't seen it all yet there is more
00:56:49yeah that she has to bring out let's talk about Bishmi I think Bishmi has an innate understanding of
00:56:57streetwear what is trending I completely agree I feel like tonight when I drive home I'm gonna still be
00:57:03thinking about Bishmi's look right I don't know how he engineered that skirt and how that heaviness
00:57:09did not pull that chiffon down it looked like architecture do we know we're a winner yes okay let's
00:57:17move on to our bottom two designers unfortunately Praje and Carason which is a bummer for me to be talking
00:57:26about both of them I know let's start by talking about Carasons you know what you're gonna go first this
00:57:32time on both of them please uh for me Carason has to learn how to edit down her process and I don't
00:57:47think she is there and this was a perfect example of putting everything in to one look it's just it
00:57:55was too much information it was too fantastical I don't really know how you save that there is no
00:58:02jean there is no short there is no skirt there is nothing you can put on the bottom of that that would
00:58:07make that jacket work I don't know if I took that jacket out of that context and I said that's
00:58:12Alessandro Michele for Gucci you would be like oh yeah maybe if I told you I am George Clooney would you say
00:58:21oh yeah maybe in the real world designers have fantastical designs it was not a fantasy I'm sorry
00:58:31it was a circus I mean we have to talk about projects also I really do appreciate that he
00:58:37wanted to push himself and I think that there were some nice elements here but in Ivory my mom got
00:58:42married in this in 1981 and that's fine but this is 2023 it's hard because so much of what he's shown
00:58:48us has ended up in the top certain designers are finding their groove and I feel like project seems
00:58:54to be a bit stuck I'm not confident he's going to fight his way out of it listen he wanted to surprise
00:58:59us he did yes it ended up surprising not a good way in not a good way I mean which of these looks
00:59:06between project and carousel could you see walking down a runway today oh none if you had to choose one
00:59:17if they were like Nina you have to put one of these on the cover why me ask somebody else which one
00:59:21would you put I mean this is what we're here for so we all agree we know who's going home

00:59:30you all showed a crystal clear point of view and truly delivered on high fashion but unfortunately
00:59:49only one of you can be the winner the winning look tonight gave us a glimpse into the future

01:02:16I'd be back on this runway it was at home with my mom and she just loved the show I was like mom
01:02:24should I do it and I promised her I would two weeks later my mom transcended so I think my mom set
01:02:34this up for me it's been a blessing to be back I really enjoy this project runway family and
01:02:41I just want to thank you thank you Karasan I want to give a hug thank you this experience was so
01:02:51special it was like a full circle journey for me to come here and to meet my sister circle and my baby
01:03:00bros I knew it was a sign for me to come here you guys I know my mom wanted this for me your mother
01:03:10is so proud you're gonna be so miss I hope you feel really good about everything you did here
01:03:16because I think it was incredible to watch thank you look season one what a season 20 it's amazing
