00:29:42by using the tresemme pro infusion smooth tonic it takes away a little bit of frizz and it keeps
00:29:47your hair hydrated as well especially when you're doing a sleek look like a bun
00:29:51so i want to do like a sleek pony kind of like the the idea of some texture but very sophisticated
00:30:02i'm going to use the tresemme one step curl cream to like help keep the waves it's going to help with
00:30:08the humidity resistance that is great i want this to kind of show like i really want a little like a
00:30:17peak of a skin what's happening over here no jacket it's not the fabric is not working enough
00:30:24in the jacket so i decided to use this element as the oversized element uh-huh the cape sleeve
00:30:29it like draped into her you mind walking and like yeah let's see how that and then the slim fitting is

00:36:30the perfect person to judge our looks hi everyone it is such a pleasure to be here i'm so excited to see

00:37:02the fabric is so beautiful i know that i have done both modest and sexy and what that interpretation was
00:37:08for me this is so good and i'm really really proud of the look that i've made
00:37:20it's just for you nobody else heard well america
00:37:27i can stand next to this explaining where the modesty comes in and where the sexiness comes in
00:37:50this is definitely one of those looks that represent me you don't make origami in a one-day
00:37:55challenge it's kind of crazy and i went and did it
00:38:04i completely love the look there's some edge to it it is elegant
00:38:25a girl is looking tight i love it i see the classic and the trendy and it's absolutely clear for me
00:38:39there's no confusion there oh she don't even need to sell all she needs to do is walk and it's sold it's
00:38:48transparent for which it's healthier for you like it's mad or something into contending
00:39:08how does one get into that
00:39:09I really feel like this dress is very suited for Emily the skin cutouts make it sexy the
00:39:26black makes it kind of chic and edgy the way the cape is moving around looks really interesting
00:39:34it's like the cape built into the hem and then goes into the top she looks really stunning
00:39:42I mean this has been a stressful journey but I turn this around and looking at this dress on Emily
00:39:49I'm really proud of it so it really comes down to judges personal taste at this point
00:39:55it's gonna be hard to pick three bottoms not that hard
00:40:04this is probably the first time ever that I'm just hoping that I'm safe
00:40:11I love the way the split is showcasing that thigh I love the cut the detachable hoodie is just fitting
00:40:18her right I'm not sure how great of a job I did but I'm just happy that I got it done

00:41:01every week I've been consistent and fluid in who I am as a designer what my point of view is
00:41:06is you definitely see the casual and formal like I did the challenge
00:41:15and this look represents who I've always been since I showed up here and who I will continue to be

00:42:25laurence yes good classic and trendy what's classic what's trendy classic i took a blazer and trendy
00:42:34was a motorcycle pants is it a jumpsuit or is it a top and bottom no no it's a jumpsuit and then
00:42:41the fabric on the back uh this is soothing fabric italian wool so i love the duality of this thank you
00:42:47and i love that play if it's classic in the back in the front it's trendy party whatever you want to
00:42:52call it well done beautiful execution as usual thank you it's giving like mugle and old balenciaga but
00:43:00almost fresher and i love it thank you imagine me in that
00:43:07it's not really trendy to me it is trendy but to me this looks like something that you would own now
00:43:12and then you would own it in 20 years so to me it's a classic okay but i've really taken aback
00:43:17by your ability on any model that you get to tailor so beautifully in such a short amount of time thank you
00:43:23as alicia keys would say that girl is on fire um this is a fire look i love the color the red just
00:43:33popped off the runway i love the sharp shoulders the fit of that pant again it's just chef's kiss

00:43:57so what two styles did you get basic and bold i'm curious how did you interpret basic i took the
00:44:04basic for the fabric and for the idea of a hoodie and just turned into a gown for like the bold aspect
00:44:10i don't know how successful it was vishmi the sparkly accents on the bust made the look feel a
00:44:17bit dated and it went a bit beauty pageant got you i'm curious like just in terms of the silhouette
00:44:23why did you go to that one because i thought that this would work
00:44:30that hoodie needed to feel effortless and it is feeling forced it was interesting to see this gown
00:44:39in that material but i think you try to push it so much into being sexy that it's struggling
00:44:49for me of all of the looks i feel like you actually kind of nailed the directive the best in a way
00:44:56i really did get the bold color gown with the boning and then at the same time like that hoodie
00:45:04and the fabric like i never would have attempted to make a gown like that in that fabric you know

00:45:18rami what were your words i have fitted and oversized all right i feel that the fitted is
00:45:30self-explanatory yes i'm curious about oversized the oversized is the extended cape sleeve that is a
00:45:38part of the train that folds over okay and tell us about this look it's a silk jersey and when i thought
00:45:44of the fitted i decided to drape the skirt and then drape the top and then it's connected into the
00:45:51back together i do think this is more fitted than oversized i wish you could have found a way to make
00:46:00that cape maybe more billowy it doesn't give me the juxtaposition between fitted and oversized that was
00:46:09my same thought when i saw it do you feel like it's oversized i mean i started with a jacket and then
00:46:14i changed direction because i just didn't feel like it was the right look per se so i decided to
00:46:21go for the sleeve instead afterwards i wanted more from the cape and i wanted to see something a bit
00:46:29more dramatic right so i'm wondering how that connects the skirt to the dress it actually drapes
00:46:37into this neckline here and it and then it ties around from that yes i think it's very beautiful
00:46:44and the draping it's super chic but as far as the challenge goes maybe not tip top but um it's a great

00:46:56ones for her proportion you look stunning but at the end of the day the job is to put something down the

00:47:19all right what words did you have elegant and edgy all right tell us about your look the elegant i know
00:47:33i could work with but the edgy the first thing that came to mind was art so i'm like you know what let's
00:47:38just go bold and give it an edge by creating this architectural origami top there and then give it a
00:47:45front slit to kind of make it modern and more fresh i definitely get the elegant side of things the part
00:47:53that i think maybe wasn't so balanced was the edgy part of it i also feel like the color choice was maybe
00:48:00a little too you know old-fashioned they're just kind of very primary colors that for me make the look
00:48:09less exciting i mean i get it i really appreciated the fact that you made it architectural origami-esque
00:48:17and i could see a very good idea that could be translated into other things but for me it was safe
00:48:26it wasn't my favorite but it wasn't my least favorite you know this part is very interesting
00:48:33you really gave us something kind of architectural in a way and makes you want to lean in to understand
00:48:39it i think it's a conversation piece yeah i agree there was a lot of great work in the top what is
00:48:46the technique it's origami it's press fold press fold and fusing something it's fused a couple times
00:48:53with heavy facing to give it like a a cardboard structure so you can actually create the shape thanks

00:49:14what button did you draw casual and formal all right tell us about the look i wanted to do kind of like
00:49:21the take on the ball skirt so they're ball pants with the bomber i wanted to be tailored and have some
00:49:26elements that still kind of connected the two together the pant is love i could see how it'd be
00:49:32really fun to walk in i always love pockets the jacket i just wasn't sure about the fit doesn't seem
00:49:42right i hate to disagree with the jiva i like the jacket i think where you lost me was with the brocade
00:49:52oversized pant here i just felt like you needed something a little more streamlined so this for
00:50:01me did not work that's funny you say that because last week i did a gray taylor pant with the sweater
00:50:08with the leather details and and i was just about to tell me i was safe right because it's kind of
00:50:14boring and just no no i didn't say boring i said safe yeah on the runway with all the dresses and all
00:50:20those big moments it felt like one of the most safe things i really feel like when i come up here

00:50:42the work i'm doing like the week before with the jumpsuit there was so many great details in there so
00:50:48it was in black again so i was like okay i'm gonna stay away from the black and bring in some color
00:50:55it's interesting it sounds like you're you feel like you're getting mixed messages which may be
00:51:00informing some of the decisions that are being made and it's helpful to hear that but the fit of the
00:51:05pant is impeccable and the design of the pant is really impressive i think for me where it fell short
00:51:11was the choice to use that brocade print it feels dated i don't want to have that title on me like
00:51:17it's not cool or it's not modern i'm older so i make things for older people so i can't do anything
00:51:23modern older women can be modern they can that's why we want to see it you said before that your
00:51:28consumer is mature yeah mature maturity means independence i was mature at 18 i moved out of my
00:51:35parents house i never looked back so maturity for me is being able to take care of yourself and know
00:51:41where you're going and do it fully without depending on anything or anybody else just because she's mature
00:51:46doesn't mean she can't be fresh forward-looking and have a cool factor that's what's lacking that's
00:51:52what we'd love to see more of and i know that you can deliver that this doesn't deliver against that
00:51:57i stand by it it does represent who i am and i'm not for everybody so it's all right

00:52:44i thought of lace the sexy aspect of it is that you can see what she's wearing underneath i think it
00:52:50looks beautiful it definitely screams like met gala to me i make a lot of modest dresses so i could
00:52:57really imagine that shape in a fabric i'd traditionally do but it's beautifully made so love it thank you
00:53:04i understand the shape in itself is intended to be modest but it's fully transparent for that modesty
00:53:15but this metallic lace works really well i love the work that you did on the sleeves all in all i thought

00:54:25more and more challenging for us to have to pick apart every single thing about the looks this particular
00:54:32challenge today is so hard to judge because fashion is very subjective absolutely right the words used
00:54:40to describe this duality elegant and edgy fitted and oversized basic and bold formal and casual sexy
00:54:50and modest classic and trendy are you kidding i would sit there for 12 hours and be in a full-blown
00:54:57spiral i would just be crying in mood like behind me like in the corner i don't know what we're gonna
00:55:03do let's make nina do it i'm not doing it sorry only one person can win project runway unfortunately not six
00:55:11so let's talk about our favorites yes i can talk about laurent's i thought it was really spectacular it was
00:55:19interesting it was angular it was like business in the front party in the back with the different fabrics i think she really
00:55:27nailed it it was about taking something classic and making it feel forward and to me she absolutely
00:55:33did that the big surprise of the night for me was the fact that this was britney her interpretation was
00:55:41very chic i kind of love this outfit she interpreted this challenge in a way that i appreciate and that
00:55:48she made it cohesive i love that britney stepped out of her comfort zone she really did a great job yes
00:55:56well nina what do you think about rami's look i loved rami's look i do i've never really seen rami
00:56:01construct anything oversized but i also thought there was something really beautiful about that drape
00:56:08and how confident his model felt with that dress he didn't really make something oversized but who
00:56:15wouldn't wear that i would wear that it would hit me in all the right spots
00:56:19all right now we need to discuss who's going home tonight let's start by talking about praje
00:56:27listen with praje he interpreted edgy as artful and it just kind of fell flat for me i appreciate that he
00:56:34wants to show us that he does evening wear but find a way to deliver that with the cool factor that we've
00:56:40come to know you for although what praje did up here was really interesting i think the elementary
00:56:47colors didn't read in any way elegant for me the color seemed kind of bland it wasn't a total failure
00:56:55but yeah it wasn't all it could have been can we talk about bishmi the bedazzling was kind of tasteless
00:57:05but it could have been great i came off such a high with him last challenge that felt so
00:57:10new and fresh and to go back to this look in pink sweatshirt with bedazzled bust that you can't miss was
00:57:21confusing just really so confusing if your interpretation of basic is sweatshirt then there
00:57:28should be an effortlessness to that look and the dress was the opposite of that obviously not perfect
00:57:37like you could see all of the ways it didn't work the slip was a little crazy you know now talking
00:57:42about kato i wonder if you all feel that this was an interesting idea it's tough i mean i think the
00:57:49formal and casual was there like bomber jacket and like fancy fabrics but for me the jacket just was like
00:57:58not desirable i think the volume of that pant really drowned her model and i could not
00:58:07get past that the design of the pants was really great there's something elegant about that kind of a
00:58:14pant i think all three of them had issues and it's hard for me to decide which one is worse than the other
00:58:22this is tough
00:58:37so obviously this was a very difficult challenge to judge because of how subjective these words are
00:58:44and we want you to know that we definitely took that into consideration when we judge tonight
