00:06Prince Harry sat down with Stephen Colbert to discuss his complicated family dynamics
00:10and life with Meghan Markle while promoting his new memoir, Spare.
00:14One of the biggest revelations in the memoir was Harry's recollection of a physical altercation
00:18between him and his brother William following their discussion of how the media had been
00:22reporting on Markle. During his sit-down on The Late Show, Harry was asked how Princess Diana
00:27would have handled the very public rift if she were still alive.
00:31It's impossible to say where we would be now, where those relationships would be now,
00:35but there is no way that the distance between my brother and I would be the same.
00:40Harry, who at 38 is two years older than Diana was at the time of her death, continued,
00:45I have felt her more in the last two years than I have in the last 30.
00:48He also discussed the need that William and himself have felt at times
00:52to publicly disguise the tension between them.
00:55Anyone who suffers from trauma, shock, grief, loss, which we all have and all will,
01:04that you have got to put on a brave face.
01:07Among the other topics tackled during the lengthy chat included Colbert asking Harry about his choice
01:12in the book to mention his number of kills as part of the British Army. He noted,
01:16I made a choice to share it because having spent nearly two decades working with veterans all around
01:22the world, I think the most important thing is to be honest and to be able to give space to others
01:27to be able to share their experiences without any shame.
01:30And my whole goal and my attempt with sharing that detail is to reduce the number of suicides.
01:36And finally, at the end of the conversation, Colbert asked Harry whether he has watched recent episodes of The Crown.
01:42Do you fact-check it while you watch it?
01:50Yes, I do actually.
