'This is Us' star Milo Ventimiglia shared that he and his expecting wife, Jarah Mariano, have lost their Malibu home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. The actor told CBS News his house burned down after the Palisades Fire swept through their neighborhood.

00:08This Is Us star Milo Ventimiglia shared that he and his pregnant wife, Jara Mariano,

00:13have lost their Malibu home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.

00:17The actor told CBS News that his house burned down after the Palisades fire swept through their neighborhood.

00:23His family evacuated Tuesday and watched on security cameras as the flames took over their home.

00:28I think there's a kind of shock moment where you're going, oh, this is real and this is happening.

00:33And then at a certain point, we just turn it off. It's like, what good is it to continue watching?

00:39You know, we kind of accepted the loss.

00:42Mariano and Ventimiglia are also expecting their first child any day now.

00:46And the actor said they had the nursery all ready to go for their baby, making the devastation even harder to grasp.

00:51Trying to hold back tears, Ventimiglia said it's heavy returning to his home to see all the destruction.

00:56You start thinking about all the memories in the different parts of the house and whatnot.

01:00And then you see your neighbor's houses and everything kind of around.

01:05And your heart just breaks.

01:07The actor also acknowledged life imitating art as his character Jack Pearson in This Is Us.

01:12Spoiler alert, saved his loved ones from their family's house fire.

01:16But his character ultimately died from smoke inhalation.

01:19Ventimiglia's This Is Us co-star Mandy Moore also shared on Wednesday

01:22that she, too, tragically lost her home in Altadena, California due to the Eaton Fire.

01:27This is Altadena, leveled, my sweet home.

01:30I am devastated and gutted for those of us who've lost so much.

01:33I'm absolutely numb.
