Nicholas Hoult is in talks to join 'Superman: Legacy' as villain Lex Luthor. James Gunn is writing and directing 'Superman: Legacy', which marks the first feature from his and Peter Safran's new DC Studios universe. As for Hoult joining the DC Studios universe as classic villain Lex Luthor, he was long in contention for the role. And while no deal is done, talks have been in the works since before the actors strike. Warner Bros. had no comment.

00:17while Rachel Brosnahan is playing Lois Lane.
00:19The duo landed the roles in June after a lengthy casting search.
00:23Holt also put his hat in the ring to play Superman and was one of the finalists for the role.
00:27As for him joining the DC Studios universe as classic villain Lex Luthor,
00:31he was long in contention for the role.
00:33And while no deal is done, talks have been in the works since before the actor's strike.

00:38The actor previously played the Marvel character Beast in the X-Men films released from 2011 to 2019.
00:44His recent credits include The Menu and Renfield.
00:47He was also among the stars of Hulu's period drama The Great,
00:50for which he earned an Emmy nomination in 2022.
