Is Lex Luthor the most evil villain ever? James Gunn doesn't think so, and is excited about the future of the villain in the DC Universe.

00:00I'll be honest, I don't think he's that bad in comparison.

00:03I mean, I think he has a point of view.

00:05For instance, I think Chuck Woody's character,

00:08the High Evolutionary in Guardians 3, he's way worse.

00:11But I think that Lex is bad in sort of a real way.

00:15He is the boss that you have that, on the one hand, is so charming,

00:18and he's giving the guy's back rubs, and he's all, you know,

00:22he's total dude bro, and then just switches on a dime

00:25when he gets upset and throws pencils at you and screams,

00:28and he's just that sort of basic, like, egomaniacal,

00:33narcissistic, like, you know, guy that I can believe in.

00:38But I understand his point of view towards Superman.

00:41I mean, he was the greatest man in the world.

00:44He was the smartest person in the world.

00:46Everybody thought he was the greatest.

00:48Even though there were other metahumans in the world,

00:50he was the greatest guy in the world.

00:52And all of a sudden, this guy comes along in this silly costume

00:54and this charming grin and this great jaw, and he's second best,

00:58and he hates it, and so he's sort of taken his envy

01:00and rationalized that he's protecting everyone with this.

01:04He's saving humanity.

01:06I get him.

01:07I get Lex.

01:07I understand him.

01:08We're going to see more of Lex, that's for sure.
