Comedian and YouTube star Lilly Singh is taking over the 1:30 a.m. spot currently occupied by 'Last Call With Carson Daly,' which will make her the only woman with a late-night talk show on a broadcast network.

00:06NBC late-night show!
00:10That's right, comedian and YouTube star Lilly Singh is making the move to
00:13late-night as she prepares to take over the 1.30am NBC spot, which was occupied
00:18by Last Call with Carson Daly for the past 17 years.
00:21Singh's new appointment will make her the only woman with a late-night talk show
00:24on a broadcast network, and even better, she's Indian, like me. Get it Lilly.
00:29Her new show, A Little Late with Lilly Singh, is set to debut in September and will be
00:33a half-hour program featuring in-studio interviews and pre-taped comedy sketches
00:37and segments.
00:38When announcing the news on Thursday, Singh said,
00:50Over the course of the past eight years, Singh has amassed more than 14 million followers
00:54on her YouTube channel, where she regularly performs sketches and impersonates her
00:57parents who immigrated from the Punjab region of India. She's also made appearances in
01:01HBO's Fahrenheit 451 and the 2016 film, Bad Moms, has written a book and toured with a
01:06stage show, A Trip to Unicorn Island. Singh announced her new series on Thursday's
01:10installment of The Tonight Show, starring Jimmy Fallon, saying,
01:13I'm so excited because I truly get to create a show from scratch. Singh revealed that her new
01:18show will be similar to her YouTube channel, but with a few key differences.
01:21Now I have more than three staff members and my sound guy won't also be an extra and won't
01:27also write the script.
01:28So...
01:29NBC announced in February that last call with Carson Daly would end after 17 years as the
01:33host wanted to spend more time with his family, but he remains involved with the network via
