00:00Well, I'm going to be really weird, that's the one thing, as I usually am.
00:15I think what I'm maintaining is that very relatable comedy.
00:19It's very uplifting, it's very positive, and I think in a lot of my videos, I have a message.
00:23I have one love, be happy, be positive, love yourself message, and I'm going to translate
00:27that to stage in a longer, bigger production message.
00:31So it's going to be the same comedy that you love, but I think the most important thing
00:34of the show is the message.
00:35Well, when I first wanted to go on tour, usually normal people would be like, yeah, let's do
00:42North America or so-and-so, and I walked in, I'm like, world tour, around the whole world,
00:46I want all the countries, so I knew I wanted to be big.
00:49I wanted to be bigger than anything anyone else has done before, and I wanted to really
00:52challenge myself, to pull something off that I've had little experience in, so my idea
00:58was to make sure I had a good production, make sure there was elements of my videos,
01:01like you said, that are on stage, and make sure there was a longer story message.
01:06I wanted the main concept to be, I'm going to take you and make you feel like you're
01:11actually leaving your place, coming to my world, and then flying back.
01:15So I really wanted to transform the stage like that, and that's what I hope I'm going
01:19to do.
01:23It's been tough, I mean, I come from a world where I have to learn how to do everything
01:28myself, like I never went to school for video editing, or for acting, or for comedy, or
01:32any of these things, and I've just kind of picked up things as I go.
01:35The same goes for this tour.
01:36I have no idea about set production, I have no idea about, like I've performed before
01:39and danced before, but I have no idea about logistics, and how tickets work, and how these
01:43things, so the journey's been really, really challenging, but it's been really rewarding
01:47in the sense that I feel like every day I learn ten new things, and the next time I
01:50go on a tour, I'm going to be that much more prepared, so it's been a really good learning
01:54experience more than anything else.
01:59And that happens very often, it's true, I can't edit it out.
02:02I think I thrive on a stage, I really enjoy performing on stage, and it is different,
02:07it's different in the sense that if someone doesn't laugh at a joke, or you mess up words,
02:10which I do all the time, I barely speak English, so you've got to go with it, and you have
02:14to make fun of yourself, and you have to be very, very quick, and know how to improv,
02:16and it's something I'm learning, but I feel comfortable doing.
02:21I have two main tips, one is that you have to have very thick skin, because the internet
02:27is very mean, and no matter how perfect, and pretty, or wonderful, or smart you sound,
02:31people will still say mean things to you, so you have to have very thick skin.
02:35The second thing is, it's a lot of hard work, I mean, a lot of people think, oh, a seven
02:38minute video took you seven minutes, no, it didn't take me seven minutes, it takes a long
02:42time to make videos, and aside from that, I mean, to actually make something like YouTube
02:46your career, it's not just videos, I'm constantly on conference calls, constantly trying to
02:50market myself, like I explained before, you're pretty much your own CEO, so you have to take
02:55many, many jobs, and wear many, many hats, that you're probably not used to.
03:03It's mostly just what people can relate to, that's my really big thing on my channel,
03:07I want to make sure that I make a video, and it doesn't matter what you look like, whether
03:10you're male or female, what part of the world you're from, you can watch and be like, oh
03:12my god, yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about, so my goal is to post a video, and
03:16for someone to react saying, oh my god, I thought I was the only one, let me share this
03:19with my friends, so things like going to the movies, things like relationships, things
03:23like parents, things we all experience, that's what I strive to make my videos about, but
03:28otherwise, if I'm really, really stumped, to be honest, I'll just ask my fans, they're
03:31smarter than me, I mean, they'll tell me what to make.
03:37Always, every day, every day, from the very beginning, I'm a South Asian female making
03:43videos, I mean, I get racism and sexism, and everything combined, of course, I think no
03:48matter what you put online, there's going to be controversy, I've learned very quickly
03:52on the internet, you cannot please everyone, I have a video called 10 Reasons to Smile,
03:56and there's still dislikes on it, so I mean, that's an indication that no matter what you
04:00do, people will dislike it, and there's been controversy over, you know, me being an Indian
04:05female talking about relationships, and talking about kissing, and talking about those things,
04:09and I just, the best I can do is do what I think is right, and that's what I'm doing.
