00:00Hollywood fitness studios are now jumping on the opportunity to promote their own
00:04more inclusive policies in the wake of the public backlash against Equinox and SoulCycle
00:09after its chairman and owner Stephen Ross planned a fundraiser for Donald Trump.
00:13According to The Washington Post, the billionaire New York real estate developer is
00:16hosting a fundraiser luncheon for Trump on Friday at his Southampton home that includes
00:21lunch, a roundtable discussion and a photo op with the president. Following public
00:25outrage from the news, many, including Hollywood stars such as Billy Eichner,
00:29Chrissy Teigen and Queer Eye's Jonathan Van Ness vowed to cancel their Equinox and
00:33SoulCycle memberships. And now competitive gyms are offering messages of inclusivity
00:38with some even offering discounts to those who cancel as well. SoulCycle's biggest
00:42competitor, Flywheel Sports, whose devoted members include Sofia Vergara, Jimmy Fallon
00:47and ironically Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner posted a general message of inclusivity
00:51following the recent news. All welcome and always free shoes, alongside an image of a model
00:56wearing a tank top that reads all sizes, all colors, all levels, all faiths, all genders,
01:01all styles, all welcome, Flywheel. California-based bin studio, Cycle House, whose clients
01:06include Jessica Alba and Shay Mitchell, reposted a general home-to-all message stating the
01:11company's inclusive policies. And Exhale Fitness Studio and Spa in Santa Monica posted,
01:15At Exhale, we achieve more together than alone. We operate from positive energy. We welcome all.
01:20Wendeth Paltrow's longtime trainer, Tracy Anderson, went the extra mile stating that she'll
01:25donate a percentage of weekend earnings from her business to three non-profits.
01:28Other local and regional fitness businesses have also been getting in on the action.
01:32306090, a New York City-based fitness studio, offered new clients who recently canceled
01:37Equinox memberships two free weeks of unlimited classes. New York Sports Club offered customers a
01:42free workout on Friday, August 9th, the day of the planned fundraiser. Other businesses,
01:47such as New York City locally owned studio Five Points Academy and Jersey City-based
01:51cycling studio Core Indoor Cycling, also offered free classes for recently canceled
01:55Equinox and SoulCycle memberships. Equinox and SoulCycle attempted to distance themselves
02:00from Ross' involvement in their businesses, releasing a statement saying,
