00:00Kathy Griffin revealed on Monday that she has been diagnosed with lung cancer.
00:04The comic and actress who noted that she has never smoked revealed the news in a lengthy message posted to Twitter
00:09saying that she will be undergoing surgery where half of one lung will be removed.
00:14Griffin also noted,
00:15If all goes well, the actress said that she will not require chemotherapy or radiation treatments.
00:25I should be up and running around as usual in a month or less.
00:27Griffin did acknowledge how the past four years have been difficult for her,
00:31such as the firestorm she faced in 2017 after posing for an infamous picture
00:36with a fake but graphic-severed head of then-President Donald Trump.
00:40The comic and actress said that she would be back as soon as she could to entertain her fans once again,
00:45adding,
00:45I'm going to be just fine.
00:47She ended her message by stating that she has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19,
00:51adding,
00:52The consequences for being unvaccinated would have been even more severe.
