00:00It's such an epic night to be here.
00:02What is it like to be here with your fellow cast members,
00:04former, current?
00:06What is it like to kind of just be here in this moment?
00:08It feels great.
00:09It feels great knowing that I'm the best dressed
00:11as far as all the men are concerned.
00:13Hell yeah, yeah, that goes without saying.
00:14It feels great watching them look at me saying,
00:18damn it, he did it again.
00:20But hey, my name is Finesse,
00:22so, you know, you always got to come with it.
00:24The talent, the stars,
00:27the people who are connected to the show,
00:29there are people who haven't even been a part of the show,
00:33but they're here.
00:34It feels great that Lorne Michaels has so much reach
00:37and knowing that you're under that umbrella
00:39and that you can still call him at any time
00:41and he'll take the call.
00:43For sure.
00:44And was there any advice that Lorne gave you
00:47throughout your tenure on the show
00:48that really stood out to you?
00:50He said, well, I won't say that one.
00:54Uh-oh, maybe you should.
00:56No, he was like, you can be social.
00:58But if you're social with somebody on the weekend,
01:01you might see them at work on Monday.
01:03So do you want to be social?
01:05So he gave like real life advice.
01:07Lorne is always dropping real life gems.
01:10My favorite Lorne advice, he said,
01:12Finesse, when you buy a house,
01:15make sure it's a really nice house.
01:19So even if you come home and you're all by yourself,
01:22you get to look around and say,
01:23somebody important lives here.
01:24And I was like, okay.
01:26Wait, I should take that advice.
01:28See?
01:29Yeah.
01:29Okay, I love that.
01:31Was there a sketch that either you were a part of
01:33or that you saw on TV on SNL that you thought,
01:36wow, I can't believe this is actually making it
01:38onto live television?
01:39I did a Black History Month sketch.
01:43It's fitting.
01:44It's still Black History Month.
01:46The first black man to say no to direct deposit.
01:50We didn't trust it.
01:51No, just cash my check.
01:52Um, the Debbie Downers and the sketch called Cork Soakers.
01:57But if you say it real fast,
01:59a lot of times it sounds like something else.
02:01And Janet Jackson was the host.
02:03And so she had trouble saying Cork Soakers,
02:06which was the whole,
02:07so it sounded like something else.
02:09And everybody kept breaking and it was just hilarious.
02:12So would you consider that to be like
02:14one of your most memorable nights on the show?
02:17Janet Jackson's night was probably one of the top 10 SNL hosts.
02:21It's just an all-around great show.
02:25So, yes.
02:26And when you think about the legacy
02:28and the future of SNL,
02:30what do you think?
02:30Do you think it can carry on for more seasons?
02:33I think it's up to Lauren.
02:35I think if Lauren wants it to carry on, it will.
02:37If he wants to shut it down, then it will.
02:40But 50 years is a good exit.
02:42That's a good out.
02:43So we'll see if people want to take in,
02:46you know, fill his shoes and take his spot.
02:47But we'll see.
02:49I feel like we're not done just yet.
02:51Yeah, we're not done yet.
02:52And tonight's going to be huge.
02:53Well, thank you so much for stopping by.
02:55Yeah, for sure.
02:56Take care.
