00:00After years of fighting, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie settled their long-disputed divorce,

00:06splitting in 2016 after 12 years together. The separation was almost as dramatic as

00:12their coupling was in the first place. For those who don't remember,

00:15Pitt and Jolie got together while working on Mr. and Mrs. Smith while Pitt was still

00:19married to Jennifer Aniston. Fast forward a few years and six kids later,

00:24and Pitt and Jolie found themselves in the midst of their own messy divorce.

00:28In the long-suffering marriage, the final straw came when Pitt got into a physical

00:32altercation with his son Maddox on a private airplane. Maddox was reportedly attempting

00:37to protect Jolie from her altercation with Pitt, who had lost his temper.

00:42The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services was called to investigate

00:46the situation, according to Us Weekly. Pitt was never formally charged with anything,

00:50but the nastiness of the initial split led to a long, drawn-out, and equally nasty custody

00:56battle that lasted several years. The judge in the case ruled in Pitt's favor,

01:00awarding him partial custody when Jolie was seeking full custody of the kids.

01:04Jolie reportedly plans to appeal the decision in court, but for now,

01:08both Pitt and Jolie are focused on their own futures and their own relationships. So much so,

01:14in fact, that Jolie recently introduced her kids to her ex. Jolie and her kids took a trip to New York City

01:19in June 2021. They didn't just enjoy the sights, though. Jolie and the kids also paid several

01:25visits to her ex-husband, actor Johnny Lee Miller, her Hacker's co-star.

01:37A source told the U.S. Sun,

01:39On her first evening with Johnny, Angelina only took Knox along, and they got on like a house on fire.

01:45The decision to introduce Knox to her old flame before the other kids appears to be a

01:49calculated move on Jolie's part. The source told the outlet,

01:52Knox is a sweet kid, and I imagine she decided he was the easiest one to begin introductions with.

01:58The meeting went so well that Jolie reportedly returned to Miller's apartment with Pax,

02:02her second eldest, the following day. The source explained,

02:06They only hung out for a short while at Johnny's apartment, but they seemed to get along well.

02:10Pax is reportedly considering attending university in New York,

02:13so Jolie was excited to introduce him to an old friend who has lived in the city for years. The source added,

02:19She's glad he'll have someone she trusts around for him to go to for advice or just to see a friendly

02:24face. It's unclear if Jolie and Miller are rekindling their relationship at this point,

02:28but given the passionate nature of their past romance, it wouldn't be a total surprise.

02:32The pair grew close on the set of the 1995 film Hackers. A romance blossomed,

02:37but they split as soon as the film wrapped, and Miller returned to the UK. As with most young love,

02:43though, theirs was a roller coaster. They broke up and got back together a few times before tying the knot.

02:48Jolie explained that their decision to get married was a bit unconventional. Jolie told The Sun,

02:53We both proposed to each other and both had questions to ask. I wondered if we should

02:57stay engaged for a while since he was going to be in Britain and I would stay in L.A.,

03:01but we went for a quick wedding. Jolie reportedly wore black pants and a white

03:05t-shirt with Miller's name written in her blood. Given the, let's say, intense nature of their

03:10relationship and their young age, not many people were surprised that the marriage didn't last long.

03:15The couple went their separate ways just 18 months after saying,

03:18I do. According to Heavy.com, Miller said of the divorce,

03:22Marriage was something that didn't work out, and I had to make the decision sooner or later.

03:26I decided to make it sooner. Miller added that there were no hard feelings,

03:30though, which is probably why it was easy for the exes to reconnect after all these years.
