Angelina Jolie Reveals Why She's Leaving Hollywood After Divorcing Brad Pitt

00:04 that she is going to be leaving that place.

00:08 Angelina Jolie is done with Hollywood and is gonna leave for good after she divorces

00:14 If you don't know, Angelina Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt have been going through

00:18 a divorce for literally 7 years now and at this point you could imagine it's been getting

00:23 pretty messy, hence the long ongoing dragged out divorce process.

00:28 Angelina Jolie is shedding light on the healing journey she and her family went through following

00:31 her and Brad Pitt's divorce.

00:33 Now Angelina Jolie is opening up a little bit more about the divorce and what's going

00:38 on behind the scenes as well as where she's at mentally and emotionally about it.

00:43 The Oscar winner and humanitarian touched on their 2016 separation in a new cover story

00:46 with WSJ Magazine.

00:48 Angelina went on to say that after her divorce she lost the ability to live and travel as

00:54 freely as she did before and she revealed that she will move as soon as she can.

01:03 Brad Pitt and Angelina, parents of 6 children, tied the knot back in 2014 after almost 10

01:09 years together.

01:10 However, their marriage abruptly ended in 2016 when Angelina filed for divorce, citing

01:16 irreconcilable differences.

01:24 This decision to end their marriage reportedly followed accusations of Brad Pitt physically

01:30 mistreating Angelina and their eldest child Maddox.

01:34 This happened during a private plane and took place in September 2016 when Maddox was just

01:41 15 years old.

01:42 Ironically, it's part of the problem.

01:48 Angelina is said to have documented the alleged plane incident in legal papers, accusing Brad

01:54 of both physical and emotional mistreatment.

01:58 This led to an FBI investigation into Brad Pitt's actions and he admitted to yelling

02:03 at his son but denied causing any physical harm to either Maddox or Angelina.

02:09 Ultimately, he was cleared of all charges.

02:13 But despite that, it still didn't fix the marriage and the alleged private plane incident

02:17 coupled with their disputes over shared assets and custody has made Angelina and Brad Pitt's

02:24 split exceptionally messy and continues to unfold publicly.

02:34 In an interview with the Wall Street Journal in December of 2023, Angelina disclosed that

02:39 once their divorce is completely finalized, she intends to leave Los Angeles.

02:46 She describes Hollywood and its surroundings as shallow and she expressed a desire to pursue

02:52 more authenticity in her life.

03:00 She just wants to be around more authentic people, authentic environment.

03:05 So for Angelina, she said that she grew up in Hollywood so she wasn't really somebody

03:08 that bought into the whole hype of going to Hollywood one day and buying into the glitz

03:14 and glamour of it all.

03:19 She would rather spend more of her time now visiting and helping refugees and traveling

03:23 to other countries and spending time with people who have really gone through tough

03:27 experiences.

03:29 People that are more down to earth and not as fake as she says the people in Hollywood

03:34 are.

03:35 Not that people in Hollywood don't go through tough times either, but just the whole Hollywood

03:41 scene has gotten boring for Angelina and the environment just isn't a place anymore that

03:46 she feels she can thrive in.

03:52 Despite her desire to leave, Angelina mentioned that due to the divorce, her ability to travel

03:57 freely has been restricted over the past few years.

04:00 And discussing her divorce more closely, Angelina revealed that she and her children have had

04:06 to go through a healing process after all of this that went down, especially in the

04:13 past few years.

04:14 It was really intense for them.

04:16 And in her own words, this is what she said.

04:18 "We had to heal.

04:20 There are things we needed to heal from."

04:23 And then when speaking about the closeness that she shares with her kids, here's what

04:27 she added.

04:28 "They are the closest people to me in my life, and they are my closest friends.

04:33 We're seven very different people, which is our strength."

04:35 Alright everybody, there you have it, Angelina Jolie is officially done with Hollywood.

04:44 It's just a matter of time now.

04:46 But with the way that this divorce is dragging on, who knows when it will ever finish.

04:50 We may see it finish in a few years, maybe it's going to drag on for another seven years.

04:55 I don't really know.

04:56 I don't think that Angelina wants to have it drag out any longer.

05:00 That's why she's speaking out a little bit more publicly.

05:02 It's like, let's get the ball rolling, kind of putting the pressure on Brad Pitt a little

05:05 bit.

05:06 Hopefully they can come to some type of settlement when it comes to assets and custody.

05:11 Both of them are phenomenally successful actors.

05:14 Both of them are extremely rich.

05:16 So as you could imagine, when you enter a marriage, you know, shared assets and everything,

05:21 trying to get that divided up and split equally.

05:24 And especially when you have so many children together.

05:28 As you could imagine, this is exhausting.

05:30 I'm sure it's an emotional roller coaster for Brad Pitt as well.

05:34 But guys, I want to know what you think about this and Angelina.

05:39 Good call for her to get out of Hollywood, just change it up completely.

05:43 I know some people are out there saying that they don't actually buy Angelina's side

05:46 of the story.

05:47 Brad Pitt would never mistreat her like that.

05:49 She's just trying to get money, trying to get her way, trying to have control over the

05:52 kids.

05:53 And there are some people that think that.
