00:00How advanced is AI integration in Europe's health systems?

00:08The WHO believes AI can improve health systems and alleviate pressure on staff,

00:15and European countries are acting upon it.

00:18In an unprecedented study, many report already using AI for some crucial tasks.

00:24The most common use is in diagnostics reported by 64% of countries.

00:30An example, in some cases oncologists can save up to 50% of the time used for countering.

00:38France, Portugal, Hungary, Sweden and the Netherlands, among others,

00:43have already been using AI-assisted diagnostics for the past two years and plan to continue.

00:49Others, like the UK and Italy, have only enforced it in a few clinical facilities so far,

00:56while another group of countries, including Spain, Poland, Belgium, Serbia and Ukraine,

01:01are still trialing it.

01:03The second most common use is chatbots for patient assistance,

01:08followed by the automation of logistics and administrative tasks.

01:12But the journey to AI-empowered healthcare is not all smooth sailing.

01:18The top concern is legal uncertainty, cited by 86% of countries,

01:24even surpassing financial affordability, which is the second most reported barrier.
