Police detained a group of students at Leiden University after protesters occupied parts of the campus calling for a full academic boycott of Israel. Demonstrators staged a sit-in demanding the university cut institutional ties with Israeli partners, citing ongoing concerns over the war in Gaza and alleged human rights violations.
Authorities said the occupation violated campus regulations and posed safety concerns, prompting police intervention. Officers physically removed students who refused to leave after repeated warnings. Video from the scene shows protesters chanting slogans, holding banners, and linking arms before being carried out by police.
