Senate OKs ₱889M OVP 2026 budget

The Senate approves the proposed ₱889.236 million budget for the Office of the Vice President (OVP) for 2026 in under five minutes on Nov. 27, 2025. The amount is ₱156.038 million higher than the ₱733.198-million budget passed by the House of Representatives, effectively restoring the OVP’s funding to its originally proposed level. Duterte was present at the Senate plenary. The swift deliberation ended almost as soon as it began, after Senate Deputy Majority Leader JV Ejercito moved to terminate debates — a motion promptly adopted by the plenary.
