A shocking terror-style attack just steps away from the White House has triggered a fiery response from President Donald Trump. After two National Guard members were gunned down in Washington, D.C., Trump called the incident “an act of terror” and delivered one of his strongest national security warnings yet.    In a hard-hitting statement, Trump revealed that the suspected shooter is an Afghan national brought into the U.S. under the Biden administration’s 2021 evacuation program. 00:00My great fellow Americans, earlier today on the eve of the Thanksgiving holiday,

00:05two members of the National Guard serving in Washington, D.C.

00:10were shot at point-blank range in a monstrous ambush-style attack just steps away from the White House.

00:16They had been deputized as part of the most successful public safety and national security mission

00:22in the history of our nation's capital, the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force,

00:28which has achieved an unprecedented reduction in violent crime and crimes of all type.

00:35This heinous assault was an act of evil, an act of hatred, and an act of terror.

00:40It was a crime against our entire nation. It was a crime against humanity.

00:47The hearts of all Americans tonight are with those two members of the West Virginia National Guard and their families.

00:53The love of our entire country is pouring out for them, and we are lifting them up in our prayers.

01:01As we are filled with anguish and grief for those who were shot,

01:07we're also filled with righteous anger and ferocious resolve.

01:11As President of the United States, I am determined to ensure that the animal who perpetrated this atrocity pays the steepest possible price.

01:22I can report tonight that, based on the best available information,

01:27the Department of Homeland Security is confident that the suspect in custody is a foreigner

01:32who entered our country from Afghanistan, a hellhole on earth.

01:38He was flown in by the Biden administration in September 2021

01:42on those infamous flights that everybody was talking about.

01:47Nobody knew who was coming in. Nobody knew anything about it.

01:51His status was extended under legislation signed by President Biden,

01:57a disastrous president, the worst in the history of our country.

02:00This attack underscores the single greatest national security threat facing our nation.

02:07The last administration let in 20 million unknown and unvetted foreigners

02:12from all over the world, from places that you don't want to even know about.

02:17No country can tolerate such a risk to our very survival.

02:22An example is Minnesota, where hundreds of thousands of Somalians

02:27are ripping off our country and ripping apart that once great state.

02:33Billions of dollars are lost and gangs of Somalians

02:37come from a country that doesn't even have a government,

02:40no laws, no water, no military, no nothing,

02:45as their representatives in our country preach to us about our Constitution

02:49and how our country is no good.

02:52We're not going to put up with these kind of assaults on law and order

02:56by people who shouldn't even be in our country.

03:00We must now re-examine every single alien

03:03who has entered our country from Afghanistan under Biden,

03:07and we must take all necessary measures

03:10to ensure the removal of any alien from any country

03:13who does not belong here or add benefit to our country.

03:18If they can't love our country, we don't want them.

03:21America will never bend and never yield in the face of terror,

03:25and at the same time, we will not be deterred from the mission

03:29these service members were so nobly fulfilling.

03:33That is why tonight I can announce that I have directed

03:37the Department of War to mobilize an additional 500 troops

03:40to help protect our capital city.

03:44We will make America totally safe again,

03:47and we will bring the perpetrator of this barbaric attack

03:51to swift and certain justice

03:53if the bullets going in the opposite direction

03:56haven't already done that.

03:58During this time of the year,

04:00when we gather at home with loved ones,

04:02these two patriots were wearing the uniform of our country

04:06patrolling the streets of our capital.

04:09They had taken a selfless oath to defend our nation

04:12against all enemies, foreign and domestic,

04:15and that is exactly what they were doing

04:17when they were gunned down in a savage attack.

04:21I want to express my extraordinary gratitude

04:23to every member of the United States military

04:27who is deployed tonight at home and abroad.

04:30I also want to thank the Secret Service

04:32and the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department

04:35for their work today.

04:37This Thanksgiving, I ask every family to say a prayer

04:40for the two great heroes who were so horribly shot,

04:44and for their loved ones.

04:46Please, say a prayer.

04:48May God bless them and comfort them,

04:50and may God bless and protect the United States of America.
