00:00The winners and new champions of Dancing with the Stars are Robert and Whitney!
00:09My sister said it best. Thank you for changing my life.
00:12Oh my God.
00:14Robert Irwin choked back tears after he and his professional partner, Whitney Carson, won season 34 of Dancing with the Stars.
00:21The son of the late Crocodile Hunter gave his sister Bindi a shout out.
00:25She won ABC's dancing competition 10 years ago.
00:28Back in 2015, an 11-year-old Robert made this adorable appearance.
00:34One of the big questions we get in from all the fans out there is, look, would Robert ever consider doing Dancing with the Stars as a dancer?
00:39Yeah.
00:40Would you, as a celebrity, would you do it?
00:41Definitely. I would love to.
00:42Can you imagine how good this would be?
00:43That would be so much fun.
00:44Right now, Hayes is the youngest person ever on Dancing with the Stars. He's only 15. Robert, how old are you?
00:48I'm 11 right now.
00:49He's 11. I'm thinking Robert for next season. That's what I'm thinking.
00:52Robert told People Mag,
00:54To follow in those footsteps and to do the same has meant everything to me.
00:58The 21-year-old is the son of Australian conservationist Steve Irwin, who died from being stabbed in the heart by a stingray while filming a nature doc.
01:07Robert was just two years old at the time.
01:10On Tuesday night, he and Bindi posed with their mom, Terry, holding two Len Goodman mirrorball trophies, named after the show's longtime judge, who died in 2023.
01:20Robert's big win wasn't a sure thing, though.
01:23Ahead of the show, his partner had to make last-minute changes to the choreography, due to Rob battling rib pain in rehearsals.
01:30My body is feeling it. Robert's body is feeling it. We're, like, kind of falling apart right now.
01:36You'd never know it watching him dance, sliding on his knees, and ripping his shirt open as the crowd went wild.
01:42Back in April, Robert caused an international stir when he became the face and the bod of Bombas Underwear, posing in just his skivvies with some very lucky reptiles.
01:54This Instagram post has nearly 1 million likes. Crikey.
01:58On the dance floor, Robert had some stiff competition in the heartthrob department, from Zac Efron's little brother and Trader's star Dylan Efron.
02:07He ended up coming in fourth place.
02:09Gymnast Jordan Childs came in third, and the runner-ups were podcast host Alex Earle and longtime dance pro Val Tromkovsky.
02:18He's won the mirrorball trophy three times in the past.
02:20Co-host Julianne Hough said this finale had the most votes cast ever from viewers at home, and she revealed the gap between the first and second-place pairs was the tightest they'd ever seen in the show's history.
02:32Someone who's happy about the results? Season 32 winner and Disney Channel actress Xochiel Gomez.
02:38She gushed on Instagram,
02:39She and Rob sparked dating rumors when they jived together during the show's 20th anniversary show, and when they were spotted having a private meetup on the Dancing with the Stars lot.
02:53Clearly, this guy's got moves, and he chatted with Paige Six all season long.
02:58So good to see you guys. I didn't get to talk to you last week, but you were told by Derek, best dance in, best first dance in the history of Dancing with the Stars.
03:08And then this week, you topped the leaderboard with Whitney and Mark. How are you feeling right now? That's incredible.
03:14I honestly don't know what to say. The last two weeks, I've just been in a state of absolute shock.
03:21But honestly, the word is just grateful. I'm so grateful for the judges and for this whole process, but also I'm just grateful to be living out what is a childhood dream.
03:33And also, more than anything else, to be on this journey with Whitney. It's the best.
03:38You're in good hands with Whitney. What kind of advice have you been giving him in these first two weeks of the show that we haven't seen on TV?
03:47Just soak it all in, because every moment you won't get back. So we'll never do the jive like that ever again. We will never do the tango like that again.
03:56So it's just soaking it all in. And, you know, all the nerves, that's always going to come. But just remembering, you know, there's a bigger purpose. It's more than a dance competition. It's how we make people feel and just being connected as a partnership. And hopefully that works.
04:10You know, lots of advice. You have a sister.
04:14Yeah, and we get to kind of get along, you know. I guess we manage, like, you know.
04:18He's okay. You would never know.
04:21Well, I'm sure you're getting a lot of advice. Bindi, your sister, was clearly a legend in this ballroom. Did she give you a list of, like, do's and don'ts of Dancing with the Stars? How to get far in the competition?
04:33Yeah, I mean, Bindi really said and echoed exactly what you just said. She said, look, really lean into this and really savour every second. Because she was here the whole time. She made it the whole three months. She won and she said it went by in the blink of an eye. Bindi is an inspiration to me in so many facets of life, you know. Dancing is one of them.
04:52Yeah. But in every facet. She's just always been almost like a second mum to me, you know. She's just, she's everything to me. And my family being here to support us, to be here on this journey, it means the world. And I tell you what, when we did our first meet, you know, you get a day when you first meet your partner. We got back and my whole family were there at the apartment. And suffice it to say, there were a lot of high fives going around. Everyone was like, oh my gosh. Because, you know, it's like the old gang's back together. It's really cool.
05:22Yeah. And I mean, I'm sure that's no added pressure to you, but you got to get another Irwin Amir ball. What strategies do you have in place?
05:30Honestly?
05:31Whoa.
05:32That is a loaded question. My God. I always just say, take it one week at a time. Just be in charge of what you can control. You know, I'll do my very best. And he puts forth his very best effort every day. So we're just going to continue to do that and focus on each day. And we'll see where that lands us.
05:49And lastly for you guys, next week is the first ever Dancing with the Stars TikTok night. We're all so excited. What is it going to entail? Because the show's never got this before.
05:58There's going to be some TikTok dances happening, you know.
05:59I mean, TikTok is such a huge platform for dance. So we kind of just want to celebrate that it brings people together. People want to dance with you. I mean, that's the joy about dance is you want to do something that gets people up, gets people moving.
06:12So hopefully it'll just be a really entertaining show and a lot of fun. It's going to be great. It's going to be great. It's going to be really great. I'm excited. Well, thank you guys so much.
06:20Hey, Gen Z, all you Gen Z TikTokers, it's going to low-key slap Sigma. You hear me?
06:27We talked to Teen Vogue not that long ago.
06:30Next week is the first ever Dancing with the Stars TikTok night. We're all so excited. What is it going to entail? Because the show's never got this before.
06:37TikTok dances happening, you know. I mean, TikTok is such a huge platform for dance.
06:43So we kind of just want to celebrate that it brings people together. People want to dance with you.
06:48I mean, that's the joy about dance is you want to do something that gets people up, gets people moving.
06:52So hopefully it'll just be a really entertaining show and a lot of fun.
06:56It's going to be great. It's going to be great.
06:58It's going to be really great. I'm excited. Well, thank you guys so much.
07:00Hey, Gen Z, all you Gen Z TikTokers, it's going to low-key slap Sigma. You hear me?
07:05You guys dance to Million Dollar Baby tonight. Are you feeling like a million bucks after that, Dan?
07:12Yes, ma'am.
07:13Yes, he is. Let's go.
07:16A few times I was like, oh, maybe not the shirt rip. My big sister in me was like, no, I don't like it.
07:22I was bummed that I had to put the shirt back on. That was a bit of fun. I like that.
07:25I was going to ask, whose idea was it to go shirtless? Because I'm sure that's helping rack up the boat.
07:30I mean, it was both of us. It kind of started with me, though. I was like, it's Million Dollar Baby.
07:35It's an edgy song. It's TikTok night. And I wanted to show a different side to myself.
07:42I knew that there were cool guy Robert was in there somewhere. And I was like, I want to unleash a new energy.
07:47And when he's like, all right, let's go for it. And we went for it. We went for it.
07:51We did. That's helping with the votes, yeah?
07:53Yeah. I mean, hopefully they're looking at our dancing, too. But it might have been a little bit too distracting.
07:58I mean, honestly, I'm so proud of Robert. He did everything that I asked him to do in this salsa.
08:04Like, every footstep, everything. So I couldn't be happier. I'm more proud.
08:08Last week, you said you're looking for the American Girl. I'm sure there's going to be even more DMs now.
08:13I don't know. Was that? Oh, my goodness.
08:17The DM.
08:17The DM.
08:18Well, first of all, it just means so, so much. But yeah, I'm on the lookout. And it'll happen when it happens.
08:26But yeah, watch this space.
08:28We are so busy right now, girls. Okay? We're trying to win a Mirabal.
08:33So settle down. Maybe don't email me a hundred times a day.
08:37I love you so much. Robert, I have to do this.
08:43And we're going to ask, how is the betting process going between you and Bindi?
08:46Because you're working overtime, I feel.
08:50It's stressful. Bindi is taking a back seat. She's like, I can't deal with it anymore.
08:54It's up to you now. And I'm like, no wonder you quit this.
08:57Bindi's like, oh, what are you doing? Go and take your shirt off and all this.
09:01Oh, my gosh. My family were in the audience. And I did the shirt rip.
09:04And I look over. I'm like, oh, this is kind of weird.
09:05But they're like, oh, no worries.
09:08So I've got a supportive bunch in my corner. It's great.
09:11I absolutely loved seeing you, Whitney, take a peek into Robert's world.
09:16What was that experience like?
09:18It was really fun. I was a little scared at first because you think gator and you're like, that's going to eat me.
09:23But then I got right into it. And, you know, once you're educated about the animals, they're actually really not that bad.
09:31Like, they're actually really cute. And I was touching his little chubby legs and very cute.
09:36Not cuddly. I don't want to cuddle with it. I'll leave that to you.
09:39I'll do the cuddling.
09:40What was that experience for you to bring her into your room?
09:41Oh, it was so much fun because, you know, I feel like I've been in this dance world.
09:45And I just feel like I've gained a new bestie, honestly, a new big sister.
09:50And it is really special to just sort of take Whitney in for a little slice of what life's like being an Irwin.
09:57You know, it was really, really special.
09:59It was cool to see a different side of you, too, though.
10:01Yeah.
10:01Because, like, you really, like, locked in.
10:03Serious alligator side, you know.
10:05You could tell he, like, locked in on, like, his thing.
10:08Like, you could definitely tell you changed a little bit.
10:10What can you tease about next week's Disney night? Song, dance?
10:14A couple words.
10:15Fun. Fun, fun, fun.
10:16It's really fun and light and happy. Very fun and light.
10:21We're just going to pump out positivity.
10:23We just want this one to be something that people can get behind and just absolutely love and enjoy, you know.
10:29Great. Hurry up first.
10:31Shirt staying on.
10:32Yeah. We're not taking that off anytime soon.
