00:00In working with animals, what's a moment that you felt like you were defying gravity?
00:04Oh, I like that. I like that a lot.
00:08Amazing. I tell you what, what feels like an out-of-body experience,
00:13what just feels like defying gravity, I like that,
00:16and really meaningful in my life is when I'm at my wildlife hospital that we have.
00:22We had a little koala joey that came in, and she was beautiful.
00:27Her mum had gotten hit by a car on the road, and her mum passed,
00:30but she was protected inside the pouch.
00:33Out on the road, we lifted her up, and she had passed,
00:37and this little tiny joey just emerged from the pouch completely well, completely unscathed.
00:43We spent weeks rehabilitating her, getting her strong and healthy,
00:47released her back out into the wild.
00:49To watch her scaling up that tree, ready to live out the rest of her life,
00:53it's just a meaningful thing.
00:55At the heart of everything I do, it's wildlife conservation.
00:58It's protecting the individual animal, but also trying to create a movement for everyone
01:03to realise our own power, particularly the power that young people have
01:07to make change for good in the future.
01:10We are enduring the most volatile and intense and scary time from an ecological perspective,
01:19and we really have the responsibility to tip it over the edge or to bring it back from the brink.
01:24I really believe we can do that.
01:26I never thought this, the ballroom, Dancing with the Stars,
01:29would be a way to spread that message and to hopefully empower people,
01:33but I'm so grateful it's been a way to do that.
