00:00Let's take a look at the updated odds entering the holiday weekend.
00:03We see Texas A&M at plus 170, followed by the Georgia Bulldogs at plus 185.
00:10Alabama hanging in there at 2-1, and Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels
00:14rounded out at a 15-1 number.
00:17Thoughts about where A&M is?
00:19They have a rivalry game against Texas.
00:22This conference is loaded.
00:23We could see multiple teams in the college football playoff.
00:27We sure can, and we still don't have any sure bet who's going to be in the SEC championship.
00:33Texas A&M, because they have not faltered.
00:35They have won every game.
00:37They have found a way to win.
00:38Now, they have won mostly on the bottom half of the SEC game, not the top half,
00:43and that's the negative against them, but they have played well enough to win.
00:47Of course, a big win over Notre Dame as well,
00:50and so I can see them being the number one team,
00:53but I'm going to tell you Georgia's got a tough one to finish up with,
00:56but Georgia's, Alabama is playing Auburn in the Iron Bowl in Auburn.
01:00A lot of football to be played,
01:03and you could see losses to any of those teams because of who they're playing.
01:07Now, Ole Miss benefit the fact that they have the Egg Bowl against Mississippi State.
01:13Most likely, they're not going to make an SEC championship.
01:17That should benefit them,
01:18but then their head coach, Lane Kiffin, might not be on the sidelines come December 19th
01:24when the college football playoff starts.
01:26There's rumors about him maybe jumping to LSU or Florida.
01:31Are they in a prime position with or without Lane Kiffin heading into this weak matchup
01:36against Mississippi State, who's fighting for bowl eligibility right now?
01:40Well, you know, that coaching search and Lane Kiffin, it's been interesting for him,
01:46but it's a mess right now.
01:47If he loses this football game, they're going to blame him.
01:50He's going to have to leave because it's a mess,
01:53and if he's going to stay, he should go ahead and make his mind up,
01:58so it's a difficult situation.
02:00He's gone after this game, I think.
02:01If he doesn't make his mind up and they don't win,
02:04I think he's almost got to leave.
02:06I just think it's a mess,
02:07and I think everybody's going to look to him and say,
02:09why did you do this?
02:10They have a chance to have the greatest season in the history of their school.
02:15If they win Saturday and Friday, would he walk away?
02:18Could he leave that situation?
02:20It's an uncomfortable situation, and to be honest with you,
02:24Lane enjoys the limelight.
02:25He's enjoying every bit of it,
02:27but I'm not sure he didn't see this thing getting to this point
02:30where he needs to make his mind up as soon as that game's over.
02:34And, Coach, I know Lane loves the limelight, right?
02:38And I understand he likes having the media attention.
02:41But if his sights and his real concern was the Ole Miss Rebels,
02:45and big picture, he thought about this team making the college football playoff
02:49and taking care of business,
02:51wouldn't he come right out earlier, maybe a week ago,
02:55and get out ahead of this and say,
02:56I'm the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels.
02:59I'm not going anywhere.
03:00Our thoughts are on a potential Egg Bowl, SEC title,
03:04and more importantly, national championship.
03:07I mean, if that was his ultimate goal,
03:09why put the team at a detriment with all this media uncertainty
03:13and bring extra pressure on the team if that wasn't his ultimate goal?
03:19Well, you've hit it right on the head.
03:21This is a huge game.
03:22This game means more to the fans of these two schools than any other game.
03:26And now, Lane Kiffin, if he knew he was going to stay at Ole Miss,
03:31and I guarantee he knows whether he's coming or going.
03:33In his mind, he knows whether he's coming or going.
03:37And if he's waiting now until after this game,
03:40I just think he's done a disservice to the Ole Miss program.
03:43And what they did to help him, you've got to remember,
03:46they gave him a chance to reestablish himself as a power four head coach
03:51when he had had some difficulties in the past.
03:53And I just think what should be a positive could very well turn out
03:58to a real negative and no telling what would be said or done
04:02if they did not win this game.
