00:00How does it feel to have your movie so well represented at the Oscars this year?
00:04It's beautiful, you know, it's beautiful.
00:06When you really think about making a film that hopefully invites most to understand,
00:11one, the beauty of a culture, two, how disarming it could be,
00:16and three, how much you can see yourself in another family,
00:20it's like a perfect storm, right?
00:22It's a beautiful thing to see how many people it really touched.
00:25And we knew it was special, but we had absolutely no clue how much people needed this movie.
00:32How about the songs? Would you have ever guessed this big?
00:35I mean, people are, I know parents at home are, like, their kids are driving them nuts because it's so listened to.
00:43It's unbelievable.
00:44And you know, it's crazy when we finished, when we premiered and we had the soundtrack was available,
00:50I found myself listening to it to work by myself, you know?
00:53And then when Dos Orruguitas, which is the one song that is nominated for the Oscars, would come on,
00:58and I would remember that sequence, that scene in the movie, I'd start bawling my eyes out, you know?
01:04So, yeah, I mean, it's unbelievable that Lin-Manuel and the composers and everyone who was involved in creating the sound of this movie
01:12was able to complement what was happening on screen in the story so well.
01:16I think he becomes an EGAR if he wins, right?
01:19I think he should because every 20 years we need one of those, you know?
01:24Yeah, you can do anything.
01:24I think so, yeah.
01:25Well, thanks a lot.
01:26I appreciate you, man.
01:26Nice to see you.
01:27Take care. Yeah, you too.
