00:00We need a dungeon master, you know, like nobody here, no, none of us.
00:06I mean, that would be amazing if Jarnathan, the two-headed, you know, director dragon would come back.
00:12I would love that. I think it would be cool.
00:20It's a film that's about community. It's a game that's about community.
00:24It has this whole tradition of bringing people together in that way.
00:26And I was really taken by how things played hugely differently when you had a room full of people reacting to it.
00:33It was far more emotional. It was funnier. The action was more exciting.
00:37Everything felt like there were higher stakes.
00:40It felt like you were sharing this adventure with folks, which was a revelation to, I think, most of us.
00:46We'd all seen it before, but not with the people that we're giving it to.
00:49There have been a lot of things put out under that D&D name that have not been terrific, let's be honest.
00:55And we wanted to be sure that we could do something different with it and that the studio involved would embrace the kind of direction we wanted to go,
01:04which was a departure from Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings, you know, something that would be more fun,
01:09embracing what it's like to play a campaign of Dungeons & Dragons.
01:13They really connected with the movie and it makes me happy to know that people like it.
01:20So thank you, cutie.
01:23Wait, no, I'm being serious.
01:25No, yeah, the atmosphere was electric and it was just so great to see the work that everyone has put in.
01:31And for John and Jonathan, you know, it's been four years in the making for them, so they spent a long time with it.
01:35So finally getting to see how people respond to it is a really beautiful thing.
01:40Getting Chris Pine was a real coup in that it kind of set the tone for the rest of our casting.
01:46He improved upon the character in such an incredible way because, you know, he himself is a storyteller and a filmmaker.
01:54And I think that definitely contributed to the character being so fleshed out.
01:59He was so helpful in that sense.
02:01Worked out a bunch, protein, stunt training, stunt driving, camera work, a Filipino martial art with sticks, acting.
02:12That was the new skill.
02:13No acting on the weekends.
02:16The hair implants.
02:17The hair implants.
02:18Free hair implants.
02:21Just to move my...
02:24Luscious mane.
02:25My luscious mane.
02:26That was about it.
02:27My costume, my costume was great.
02:30I liked it.
02:30Actually, I really liked my costume.
02:32I could move in it and it was fantastic.
02:35I watched animal documentaries.
02:37I was, I was ready, you know, and I, yeah, yeah, yeah, and then I was there.
02:45I had a lot of rolling involved.
02:48Front rolls, back rolls, side rolls.
02:51All the rolls.
02:51All the rolls.
02:51All the rolls.
02:52In all the directions.
02:53And that was hard to roll in.
02:56I had ears and I had...
02:58Horns.
02:59Horns.
03:00Horns.
03:00And they would fall off.
03:01That were magnetic.
03:01When she would roll.
03:02Magnetic horns.
03:03That would constantly just fling in every direction.
03:06It's denser.
03:07When you build muscle, it's denser.
03:10And then as you get older, for me, you know, it tends to be harder to get rid of stuff when you're done.
03:15So I finished the movie a while ago and I kind of carried it on to Fast and Furious.
03:19You know what I mean?
03:20And now I'm having a hard time losing the weight.
03:23But yeah.
03:24I stole some stuff.
03:26What did you steal?
03:27I stole some of the treasure from the treasure room.
03:30They were just like props in the background.
03:32I just took one coin.
03:33I only took like ten coins.
03:40What we really want to get out there is this is a movie for everyone.
03:43This is not just about D&D.
03:46This is something with real characters that go through a lot.
03:50And there's a story behind it that isn't just fluff.
