01:00Фрэнер Майк called for me to come help him, working here, I came, and since then I stayed.
01:06I met my wife, and now it's very hard to go back to Europe, or even Fort York.
01:15One day, it was just a regular day, I went to get my breakfast.
01:19Yoh happened to be there at his coffee shop, so we started talking, how his business, this and that.
01:25He sensed that I was not happy at my previous shop, and then he presented me the project of the Mantequeria.
01:34I have the Portuguese product, and I, as a proud Portuguese, makes me happy to work and represent Portugal making the original pastries here.
01:44As a head pastry chef here, I mostly supervise, and teach the new ways, and make sure the product is up to standard, right?
01:56What I feel the most, even with any customer, is the first bite is a surprise, right?
02:02Because they are expecting to be a local egg tart, or even the Portuguese come, they get surprised because they can taste the Portuguese flavor.
02:13I would say egg tarts are just an inspiration by the Castellanata.
02:17It's two different products, you cannot say it's the same thing.
02:20Our pastry is more flaky, it's more buttery.
02:23Our cream is not like egg texture, it's going to be creamy.
02:32The first time I came to Macau, I thought it was a new world, because I come from the rural area, and I was dropped off in Kotae side.
02:44But when I came to Macau side, I felt, whoa, this is like Lisbon, especially Senada Square, if you walk beneath the Liberdade, and Senada Square is exactly the same.
02:55So it brings a sense of nostalgia, and also a little piece of home to the people living here.
03:03My favorite place in Macau would be, even from the Senada Square to the San Lázaro Church, you can just walk the direction, and you'll find yourself.
03:15I mean, it's a very tourist place, so I like to go around.
03:19From the São Paulo ruins, all the Portuguese little streets, you can see the influence, and the mixture of the cultures, yeah.
03:29Because you can see the Portuguese buildings and the roads, but at the same time you see all these signers, and the local way of living, right?
03:40After work life right now is mostly family life.
04:07I'm very glad that I have the Portuguese community here, as I raise a child, so I can have little support from my own little community here.
04:23I like to bring my family to the lake, and even walk the dogs, since we're going out, and they need some fresh air as well.
04:31I think today, for me, home will be both, right?
04:40I have my parents in Portugal, so it's always going to be there for me, and I know if anything happens, it's my safe point, right?
04:48But also, as I start a family here, I cannot imagine leaving Macau.
04:54I'll see you next time.
