Valorie Curry chats with THR at San Diego Comic-Con and reveals what it was like joining 'The Boys' for season 4. Plus, she shares what she wants for her character Misty.

00:00What was it like joining the show for season four?

00:03It feels like showing up to a party right when it is like raging at its height, you know,

00:08like these guys built the most incredible show and world and fan base and getting to come in

00:14when it's honestly like riding this high of success is incredible. It's also this moment

00:20as well being here for Comic-Con. It feels like it's getting to celebrate that growth with them

00:25and what they've all built together and it's just an honor to be a part of it.

00:27What has the fan response to the show been like for you?

00:31You know, for the most part, it's been so great because I really, personally playing Firecracker,

00:35I appreciate how much people understand the satire and appreciate the satire, you know,

00:40like the fans get it and I mean, they're on board for just the insanity of the show.

00:49Did you study any similar commentators before taking on Firecracker?

00:53I mean, I didn't really have to. It's pretty unavoidable and also I really leave that to the writers as an actor

01:03and as I think all the actors on the show have to do is we sort of have, we play these characters on a number of levels.

01:08There's the commentary kind of level, there's the performance level of like the soups

01:12and then there's the grounded more human inside that, right?

01:15And so with Firecracker, who is such a parody, it would be easy to lose her in that

01:20and so I actually tended not to look outside or in the news for inspiration.

01:28I tried to keep her as grounded in herself, in her backstory as possible.

01:32Heading into the final season, what are your hopes for Firecracker?

01:35I mean, I hope she dies. She has it coming from many people. She's awful. She's horrible.

01:41I hope she dies. I hope it's not because of the meds because that seems too easy.

01:49Yeah, I mean, it should be Sage, right? It should be Sage.

01:54And then she should survive and have a spinoff.
