00:00I heard that this is your first movie. What has this experience been like for you?
00:03It's been unreal. I mean, it's been everything I would want and more.
00:06It's been a dream. I actually have nothing bad to say about it, truly.
00:10Yeah.
00:11And I know, of course, you get to play a teenage Blake Lively.
00:15What was that like, and what conversations did the two of you have
00:18in order to maybe get the character or the mannerisms right?
00:21Because I know everyone's been talking about how much you guys look alike,
00:24but also you guys sound alike, too, which is insane.
00:27Yeah, we really talked like a couple times about it
00:29and just kind of realized that it was like such a pure stroke of luck
00:33that we do have such similar qualities about each other.
00:36We always joke, we're like, somebody's dad, like, did my dad?
00:39Like, where are the genes? We need to see like a 23andMe test or something
00:42because it is truly crazy how similar we are.
00:45And like, I would have never guessed it. Yeah.
00:48Was there anything that you worked on in terms of character together
00:50or you kind of kept it pretty separate?
00:52I mean, she was so incredible with me.
00:54She gave me such a huge amount of agency with the character.
00:58And, you know, sharing this character with me was such a blessing that she gave me
01:01that we really just mainly talked about like what her core values are, you know,
01:05like who is Lily?
01:06But when it came to mannerisms and things, like, I think we just kind of like held it.
01:10Yeah, exactly.
01:12Amazing.
01:12Of course, we know that this movie deals with a lot of,
01:15and this book, too, deals with a lot of heavy topics.
01:17Yeah.
01:17What was the most challenging scene for you to work through yourself?
01:22I mean, I wouldn't even say challenging, but the first scene that we did was the garden scene
01:26and we jumped right into it.
01:28And, you know, it's a really vulnerable scene, but that wasn't even challenging
01:32because we were surrounded by such wonderful people.
01:34And my co-star, Alex, who's over there, he was such a safe space to just like be with.
01:40And we worked together so well that like even the really hard parts like felt safe.
01:45Yeah.
01:46And, of course, speaking of the young Atlas, I know you and Alex have such a strong bond on screen.
01:52Did you do anything off screen or any sort of bonding exercises as a cast to sort of build that chemistry?
01:57We kind of just like hung out.
01:59We would like grab dinner after that.
02:01We'd talk about it.
02:01We'd be like, how'd you feel?
02:02What was that?
02:03We did go to Six Flags actually one day on our weekend break.
02:06And it was monsooning similarly to this.
02:08But it wasn't happening before and then lightning was striking and it was a very scary experience.
02:13But it's good to see people afraid.
02:14It makes you closer.
02:15You know, it was, yeah, it was a funny time.
02:16Yeah.
02:17Finally, I wanted to ask, obviously, such a huge fan base for this book.
02:21What is another Colleen Hoover book that you would want to see made into an on-screen adaptation?
02:27It starts with us.
02:29Do we know?
02:30Is there any tea?
02:31I have no idea.
02:32But if it happens, let me know.
02:34Yeah.
02:38What do you want to see here?
